Bob will not be at Toledo this year. If you call them at 480 460 2652, you can order the unit. His website will be updated soon.

Smokey I use those German Graupner plugs and you can get them from Hobby Lobby and I think Tower have them now as well. They are a six pin plug so I wire up the twin servo leads to the male plug and glue it to the fuselage in a location that lines up with the servo wires in the wing. The plugs are very tight and snap together so when you pop the wing off you dont unplug anything from the power expander or a receiver. Plus the plug is keyed so you cant get it wrong way round either.

I have all my planes setup this way and some are two plus years old and the plugs snap together like day one.

If your worried there is also a safety clip you can glue in place so the plugs wont ever come apart unless you lift the tag.

Let me go look on the web for some links.

http://www.hobby-lobby.com/connectors.htm

Go down the page and look for speed 400 connector. I dont see the safety clip on that page but they come in black.

My plane is 1000 mile away tonight so no pics of the way I set up the plug until I get there on Saturday.

nice setup, Kiwi.
are those aerials at 90 degrees to each other? hard to tell in the photo - the one on the left could be pointing up a bit.

Re: New Equalizer 10 Announced

Doc,

I'm far from my toy at the moment but help me clarify this. Are they saying that one antenna should be vertical and the other horizontal. What I mean by that is each rx has two antenna so to speak so I bend the wire on the right side of the Rx up to 90 degrees and the left one i leave at 270 degrees or flat so to speak.

Then with the small satelitte antenna I do the same. I was going to mount it down the side of the frame so it was at 90 degrees to the receiver antenna. I did not understand or read the book well enough either, I must admit, to see where that was what they were hinting at regarding antenna placement.

Some if you have it setup post a photo of those tiny little wires to make it clear whats the best recommended antenna setup please.

These servos cost $12:00. Yes true and I hope to test them to failure to see if they are any good at all. They are metal gear, seem to function OK and I have 20 to play with and let you guys know what I find.

Hey Kiwi. Did you run these servos through the mill yet? I'm curious to see how they do. Also just how do you go about punishing them?

Re: New Equalizer 10 Announced

I think those Graupner/Multiplex plugs are a PITA to solder on. I like to use 4 pin Mini Deans connectors for two servos (+ and - together on two pins, signals on other two), or a 3 pin Mini Deans for the signals and a Full Size Deans for the power on three servos. The Mini Deans and the Full Size Deans give an extremely positive connections and would not come apart in the air unless the wing or stab departed the air frame.
