Adrian Ciulei, the owner of CH Ignitions, has just introduced a brand new line of affordable gas radial engines from UMS technologies. All CNC machined from aircraft grade aluminum stock. Is that Van Morrison in the background? And why does it run cooler with 100 octane? How often you gotta lube those open rockers? I do like me some radials, though.

They are also working on the Inline 2,3,4 cylinder. I will know more in the Fall when I go to the factory. I will look to see the boxer option but that will have to be a study of demand. Will be based on existing parts .
Horizon Hobby still handle the Evolution brand that is their brand and mostly GLOW. The UMS is based on the same design but redesigned for Gasoline operation, more improved . Machined heads from AL stock not cast. Valve seats inserts to support higher temps from gas operation. Bigger cooling fins on the cylinders, Stronger cams materials and heat treatment process. Working now on NEW CDI's between CH and Rcxel that we develop as we speak and test. ALL the North America service and parts will be trough CH , I will do the service and parts. Thank you Adrian |

UMS are gasoline engines with CDI's. and a NEW line of 5 CYL Gas . Evolutions are GLOW and you have the 160 and 260 7 cyl gas but looks different. Sidel...not sure what they do this days I heard all kinds of stories... But confusing as it is...be glad that you have choices . Before you had Moki ... mostly 5 cyl, big $$$ the only kid in town. Now you can choose ![]() Adrian |

Let's not forget the Valach 250 and 420, but like Moki, a bit expensive for most. I most definitely would try one of yours if there was a boxer, those are the style I run. The one in my Avatar has a Valach boxer in it.

I had one of the UMX 260cc motors from Horizon... constant problems with oil leaks, and the motor never ran consistently... great one day, very sluggish the next. I never got the motor off the ground, sold it and put a Moki on my plane... problem solved. I hope UMX worked out their problems, from what I read, there were a lot of people with the same problem as me.
