Mutt, I would never go against what Richard says but 7 or 8 years ago we used the alum. angle. I have had alum. angle on mine for 9 years with no signs of cracks. Now granted I only have a DLE-30cc on my 70" wing.---Smitty

Working with metal a lot, aluminum angle is great as long as vibes are kept in control, sizing is appropriate, and no scratches are allowed. Using care to back it up is helpful, meaning, longer unsupported lengths allow easier breakage. It works fine with common sense but even then care and keeping an eye on it is the key. Scratches in aluminum can be deadly in high stress areas so try to avoid them.

What do u suggest for throws?

Just start out with 20 degrees on ailerons and elevators,rudder on low rates then adjust from there to your liken.It's not a twitchy plane by no means.

How would I do it? I would max out the hi rates. If it "looks" like you're getting 45-50° throw on elevator and 30+° on aileron, I would keep that, add a ton of expo around 60, and use as low as 20-25% throws on low rates. Rudder isn't too picky. Max it out with mid expo and just keep your hands off of it if gets radical and tune it later. That gives a feel for 3d and a safety net if it's too radical which I doubt in this case. Tune from there.

45 or so is good on the Rons, max out everything you can for the others. Back it off 60% for low rates that will keep it safe.
My only concern is the balance, Every one of these I've seen whether it be the Foamie ARF version like mine or the wood kit version are very tail heavy. Even with my anchor like BME 50 it still needed 8 ounces in the nose to get it in the range.

Hopefully you'll be under 13lbs with that 40cc. Mine came in at 15lbs and it needed the 50.
