Pilot Rc Edge 540 V3 Hamilton Scheme DLE35RA

Will the DLE-35RA fit nicely on the Pilot Rc Edge 540 V3 Hamilton Scheme ? Or does it need an engine with a side mounted exhaust?

In case anyone else has the same question it fit ok, just needed a little trimming to get the exhaust to fit nicely.

Thanks for the post Trex, I've been considering the same set-up or the DLE 40. Not sure if the twin will fit in the cowl.

Looking forward to hearing how the maiden goes for you. Best wishes

The maiden was rather uneventful which is always nice.

Its a bit heavier than the planes I'm used to which did throw me a bit at first, plus its a new engine and not broken in yet. I'm hoping that ones its run in and I start using a larger prop it develops a little bit more power and has a slighter faster climb.

I think a little more power would be helpful so a 40cc would be a good choice.

Its a very nice plane, really stable in the air. I have it balanced nicely on the cg point but think it could do with a bit more weight at the tail so I will probably move the ignition pack back behind the fuel tank.

Its my first Pilot-rc plane, I'm impressed with the build quality and strength.

Unfortunately I had a slight mishap when prop hanging and she crashed reasonably hard BUT other than the prop nothing seems broken which is nice.

I am now looking at installing the DLE 35cc Canister and header set, as the 35CC seems a lot louder than my 30cc, any advice witht he install would be much appreciated.

You must not have liked that plane. Only flew it for a few months and sold it. It didn't last long.

Not quite, it was a nice plane, well built (very well built, good quality) but far to heavy for a 35cc in my opinion, a 40 might have been better or an xpwr 60cc!
