I'm not a scammer to use the photo and make money. I already told that I'm a old user in flying giants and also I have items to sell in that forum. I'm going to deal only after you send a picture with my name or if you think I'm going to make money with that photo you can put your email I'd on that and send me the photo. I can find other buyer if not

Wait wait wait hold on a minute, after I send a photo you want me to ship out with $200 and when you receive the moki engine youíre gonna send the rest? How the hell do you think Iíll agree to that?? For all I know after I send that photo you can easily tell someone else itís yours and convince them with the photo that you really got the engine and milk them for their money, thatís the real reason I donít wanna send a photo, Iíve experienced this before, youíll have to propose something better my friend

I don't think my request for a simple photo is ridiculous. I'm a long distance, serious buyer & the money involved is not a small amount. Its within my rights to see the photo before I make this purchase. I had been waiting for it but looks like it's ever going to come. It's alright then.

Never do a deal with people that have a small "limit" on there PAYPAL. Never use a different platform they suggest, and when they give an email to an account that is totally different name its a scam. Always use PAYPAL transaction never the friends and family option. Any time the buyer or seller starts asking for weird or funky things like a picture of the engine with a chicken sitting on top of it.....its a scam.

Festivus, if a buyer asks for a picture with something written on a piece of paper, it's because he/she is trying to avoid a scam seller. A scammer can easily find a photo on the web of a random engine of the same model to post as if it were theirs.

So, if I were to ask someone to write my name on a piece of paper and then take a photo of the piece of paper with my name next to the engine in specific way, then it's simply because that would require someone to have access to the actual engine to do this. It somewhat avoids a scammer who just lifted a random engine photo off the web.

I've never made such a request myself, but I understand why people ask for it. I would not be offended if a potential buyer asked that of me.

Yes, I had some difficulty following all of it on both sides of the email. I do think, in part, that there seemed to be a bit of a communication barrier/translation challenge in the back and forth. But as soon as Friends and Family came up...I'd be done. No way I'd buy anything $2000+ without first seeing it in person. Sometimes it means I pass up what might seem like a deal, but I'm willing to forego those sort of opportunities.

I'm a pretty trusting person (unless there are obvious signs of a scam) but one of the few items I ever had an issue with was advertised as "selling for a friend" who was not a member. It all worked out in the end, but the item was not as represented. PayPal can be your friend.

I couldn't make SENCE of that email. The language is hard to decifer. Like said above, as soon as I saw the friends and family I was done. I have bought several items using friends and family but it was from guys on here I have talked with and are well known members. I'd much rather wait for a deal I'm sure of than risking big money on a deal that seems iffy....not worth it !!!!!

Agree, I couldn't make "sense" of that either! But when the conversation is that ambiguous, it's best to walk away! Better yet, run away from it!

Don't worry, Jacob ban is still actively scamming on FG. He sent me a contact that just happens to have what I want......AGAIN.
Not sure what needs to be done to BAN him.
I posted this info on the general discussion for all to see as well.
