Been flying other planes in the hangar the last few weeks but after several unusual problems lately, I just wanted to get a good day in. The laser didn't disappoint and in fact it just proved how much fun it is to fly.

Weather is almost turning for the better. We had a lot of giants out today

I've read thru most of this thread and I'm not seeing any muffler that doesn't rub on the cowl a little. cant someone verify or is there a muffler that will clear without making a cut.

Donít use any of the black spacers with the blazing star mount and get the JTEC compact mufflers that Tim from NorthwestRC sells, they are tight but fit without having to cut anything. I had the 2 into 1 canister on my Laser and removed it to put it in my 120Ē Bushmaster, I honestly liked my Laser and the DA 70 better with the canister exhaust so Iím going to buy another one for it.

I agree with mxcop, I like my da70 w/2:1 header and can, mine is a front dump because that is what I had. I like the fact it is real quite and I don't like to attract attention with a loud engine at the field.

Me too but noise restrictions so I'm nice and quiet with the XPWR-60.

Hows the throttle response with the Cans on that 2:1 ? I have heard of some people moving back to the usual mufflers from 2:1. I have Cans on my GP123 but that is a different beast and needs to be toned down

Hey Amit. I can only share my personal experience. I had the two into one header and MTW 110 can on my DA70 and it really struggled in low end performance and transition. Sounds great though. I tried several different tunings and throttle curves but nothing seemed to work. Even had John Dussia tune it during an event in Knoxville. Went back to stock muffs and immediately got my throttle response back in low and slow maneuvers. I do think it is a good combo for the new giant turbo Bushmaster and scale flying.

If anyone is interested in a trade, the JTEC mufflers that clear the cowl for the 2-1 header and canister setup let me know. I tried the canister setup and don’t care for it. Only has maybe 6 flights on it. PM me and we can work out the details. (DA-70)

Thank's Richard, i have a very similar feel for the cans on the big Mxs. I want to stay away from cans as much as possible

Come to think of it, my 2-1 header and can is now in one of my flying buddy's new Turbo Bushmaster.
