Question
Futaba 12fg, can you fly off memory card?

Like the title says, when you have a model on the sd card and not in the internal memory, can you fly off of the memory card? Do all models need to be in the internal memory and flown from the internal memory? thanks

Generally it is a best practice to copy whatever you want to fly to the internal memory

I used a 12FG for 11 years (on 50mhz!)
The memory card was there as backup and for old models seldom used.

Although it "can" fly from the memory, read/write is much slower than on the internal memory...

For example I have a float plane only for a few days of summer vacation, that one flew "from the card.

Radio still works ok and flyes a fewplanes...
But I started to have trouble with some 50mhz mini aftermarket receivers on a few small planes, so I switched to Jeti this year after 25years on Futaba... ...both are very good systems, never a glitch on the 12FG even with the long antena!!!!

Saludos,
Jean Paul

Which is why I said it is generally a best practice to copy to internal memory. It is easy and takes seconds to do.
