me too. IN FACT EVEN MY 405 planes had a single RX. But always dual packs.

In my jets, because of all the carbon fiber, I use dual 7008SB receivers, connected to a Power Expander from Power Box . It weighs less than 1oz, which is critical for 3D Jets.
Looks like a great solution

I never supported the idea of dual receivers until devices cam along allowing true redundancy. Splitting control seemed like a half measure at best.

Yes, I agree. I have many a fellow pilots that swear 2 receivers with the airplane split between them is truly redundant. I ask what happens if they lose 1 receiver, their answers are always varied but I've never gotten a confident enough answer from them that they would be able to control the aircraft into a landing. The serial input devices give a true redundancy

I had the wing servos in one wing of a 40% plane lock up on me. Held about 1/4 aileron throw. I barely got the plane down. I cannot imagine trying it with half a plane.

Futaba 7014 receiver

Hello, I want to buy a Mercury SRS LCD GPS Sensor Switch with OLED Display for a 13 channel Jet. Can I connect just one 7014 receiver or do I have to connect 2 7008 receivers?
Do you recommend this setup over a smartfly card along with a iGyro 3xtra?

No reason a single 7014 will not work fine.
