Starting a moki 210
Hey guys!
Iv got a moki 210 on a 24% extra ( bout 11 pounds ). Last time i tried to start it it bite back and i had to get my hand stitched back together, any advice on starting these hings would be much appreciated. Also if you have prop suggestions throw those in there as well. Steven |

Re: Starting a moki 210
Get the engine good and wet. then back flip the spinner hard (clockwise) to the point of the compression. It will spring back and fire and your hand is nowhere near the prop.
I ran a 20-8 Moki prop, the Xoar will also work well. I used 5% nitro. |

Re: Starting a moki 210
I it like Rolling Thunder does. I do it the same way. The only thing else I do is put a rubber plug in the carb have the throtle open with the glow plug OFF the motor. Spin the prop a few 3-5 complete circles. Motors good and wet. Then glow plug and spin the nose cone. There the easiest motor to start.

Re: Starting a moki 210
If it bites back the tuning is off. Once you get the needles correct it doesn't do that. I got wacked once pretty good and it was because the low needle was way off. After I got it adjusted it never did that again. It's a one flipper after proper priming.

Re: Starting a moki 210
just get it good and wet .,leave the needles alone till you have it running.i used a chicken stick after getting bite by mine a few times, after you get it wet be very careful when you turn on the glow power ,mine sometimes would start just by turning on the power.flip it backwards and most times it will start the first flip

Re: Starting a moki 210
I ran mine on 10% Red Max, get it good and wet, throttle at idle, put the glo heat to it and grab the tip of the spinner and a just a little twist cw against compression and it would pop right off. Only bad thing about it was I would go thru a gallon of fuel in 4 flights.

Re: Starting a moki 210
Morgan FAI is 0% nitro. That's what my two moki's liked. Lose the nitro addiction with Moki's, they don't need it.

FWIW, the 1.8 and 2.1 Moki's (Mark) are on sale at HobbyPeople for $249 right now. I ran my 1.8 on home brew 0% and it started easily and ran great.

Re: Starting a moki 210
Just because no one mentioned.. OS "F" Plug is what you should run.
Motor dripping wet with Fuel (5%) Bump it backwards and it should start..( I use a electric started on mine much easier/safer) APC or like prop - 20x8 |

Man! A Quart of fuel a flight ? Whatcha running ? A race plane WOT for 20 minutes a flight ? I ran a 22oz. tank on my Moki 1.80 for about 12 minutes a flight and land with a quarter tank left. I think maybe you ran on the rich side ? |
