IMAC NE Region- what's up for 2015?

Plum Island, MA Aug 7-9
Hey guys,
Just generating some chatter for the 2015 season. I'm trying to get some intro sessions together for "new to precision and IMAC" pilots. Ideally for those whose skills are getting better but they want some guidance and to become more comfortable flying in front of others, being judged, learning Aresti and the rules. Or those interested in learning more about flying in wind and more precisely.
Looking for a casual setting to introduce those to the great NE IMAC community and have some fun flying.
Please talk it up here. Looking for interested pilots, host clubs, mentors and instructors. Name: ImageUploadedByTapatalk1429216365.927285.jpg

Keep an eye on the NE schedule of the IMAC site. There hopefully will be an announcement soon regarding a combined judging school and primer to be held next month in ME. If it works out, Saturday will be devoted to classroom judging topics including the new rules for 2015, Sun would be a combined practical judging session and pilot primer. Anything from aircraft setup to basic aerobatic flight, to specific sequence tips is fair game.

It is confirmed, details below, registration will be open as soon as it's posted on the IMAC site:

Northern NE Judging Seminar Saturday May 30th, 2015… With Optional Judging and Flight Trimming Practicum on Sunday May 31st (Flying Location to be added later)

The Judging Class will be held in the Basement of Ray & Robins Hobby Center at West Falmouth Crossing Plaza, 65 Gray Road, Falmouth, ME. From 10AM to 4PM on Saturday and the optional, but highly recommended, flight trimming and judging practicum from 10AM to 3PM at a field in the Portland area on Sunday May 31st. Flying location is still being coordinated. There will be coffee in the AM and Pizza lunch at the Hobby Center. Cost for the event including food and duplication of judging material will be $10.00. Sorry we had to cancel the first class in CT due to low attendance. The cost structure is much lower for this event and it will be held whether we have 10, or 50 pilots.
Note: We are waiting until 10AM to start the class on Saturday & Sunday to allow for driving time from adjacent states…

Instructors: Bill Lairsey, Ty Lyman, & Peter Nesbeda

Ty, this is great! It's very similar to what I spoke to Bill about earlier this year and exactly the kind of thing I'm promoting here. Excellent! I will spread the news on our club FB pages and at our website.
I'm still going to look into an intro, casual version of this during the season.
Outstanding news. I will personally try to get several new pilots there.

Ok guys I've "shared" on a few FB pages and cranked up the networking engine. Let's make this a well attended weekend. I'm excited to see everyone. Guess I better get my 91 extra built!

Our "Southern" North East region judging seminar was cool. Now 2 weeks to CAPI. Second contest of the season for us but Hurlock is the weekend after so... back to back IMAC weekends coming up down here. Hope everyone else is doing well all over the IMAC realm!

Hey guys,
Our May judging seminar was great and fairly well attended with many usual subjects. Nice to Mohave Ty Lyman back in the region and do some insightful instruction. Welcome back Ty!
I'm building a resource on YouTube to put IMAC videos (mostly instructional). The IMAC site has been updated with on line judging and Very nice Aresti tutorials. http://www.mini-iac.com/Training/tabid/121/Default.aspx

The purpose of my own videos is critique as well as showing the pilot/ caller relationship and the communication necessary for known and unknown sequences. I hope it gives everyone some help, especially those not too familiar with IMAC practice or competition.

Enjoy.

After day one of last weekend's contest we put the P3 up and took some vid of the field and those who were hanging out. Good times. This is Prince Georges County RC club and from the contests we call CAPI. We go twice a year nowadays... hope you enjoy the vid!
