Re: Video

Great video and looks like it has great 3D performance. We have a Su 31 on order and plan to use the DA170 with RE3's. Were there any issues with the extended carbon mount for the 2 cylinder? Also, some of the 40% Yak round cowl planes would have an issue with prop loading if the engine was mounted so that the prop was too close to the cowl. Any suggestions on how far the prop should be spaced from the cowl? Your 19kg weight is much improved over the prototype and more in line with what we were anticipating. Looks like your going to have a blast flying it. |

Re: CARF SU-31
Hi Kevin,
my kit didn't come with a dome extension. Im not yet sure if it is included in the actual kits. You should talk to your rep concerning this to be sure. I used milled sheets from plywood and stapled them to get the engine far enough to the front. I originally had only a small spacing between prop and cowl, the same as it was at my 3m Yak. No problems experienced ever. I had to move the engine a bit forward because of CG reasons at the Sukhoi and now I'm about 1 inch away from the cowl. That should be a good value to refer to. Remember to put things as far as possible to the front, then there won't be any CG issues. Your kit should be a lot lighter than mine, which makes this point a bit less sensitive, too. You will love this plane! Sascha |

mithrandir, looks like you cant figure out weather or not you want or do not want this plane.lol
the plane looks great in the air and had a very high roll rate 360 a sec? looks much better than the yak, do one of these in a flying giants sheme trade white for yellow and it will pop in the air, great job looks like comp has another winner with this airframe, now bring back the 2.6 extra 330L lol |

Re: CARF SU-31
Should be getting one with a custom scheme around the end of the month. Going to put a DA170 in it on RE3's since Sacsha's looks like it flies so well at 40lbs. It will strictly be an IMAC plane.
Spectrum 9100 3 - 2300 A123 8711's everywhere and that's about it! Oh, and a couple of Matchboxes. Oh yeah, forgot, Smart Fly Ignition cut-off. Going to see if I can break the sub-40lb threshold. |
