Quick Connect Battery Tray

I'm close to wrapping up construction and testing of a quick connect battery tray for my new 87" 3DHS Extra 300 SHP. If anyone is interested you can click on the link to my blog on RCgroups to follow progress and the maiden: https://www.rcgroups.com/forums/show...e#post37592773

By "quick connect" I'm referring to an automatic connection to the ESC when the tray is inserted into the plane. As far as I know, this has only been done for drones and the Goblin 380 helicopter. There is a link to that tray (and an interesting animated video of it) on my blog.

Let me know if you have seen this done elsewhere.

Please take the poll I posted here: https://www.flyinggiants.com/forums/...89&postcount=1

Thanks for your interest. No plans to produce more. It requires some modification of the airplane, so it's specific to the 87" Extra, which is no longer made.

I made a better version for my 104" Extra using 3D printed parts for a better, more reliable mating to the ESC. But that also required modification of the fuse to work. It would be hard to make a universal tray for multiple planes.
