Sure. I can use another GeeBee.
Have 5 GeeBees now from flat plate foamy. Small electric foamy , 1.20 glow 71", NorthWest HobbyTech 85" 50cc , and a Carf ver 1 GeeBee.
Hope to see Benji's GeeBee as I fly often at Whittier narrows.
And hope to see Randy 's GeeBee as I also fly st OCMA
I just did maiden flight a few days ago of the 85" GeeBee at Prado.
Hope to start on the Carf one soon.

gee bee

OK Dan, lets fill the sky with Gee Bee's. It will be a while before mine's done, about 40% complete. Trying to decide on the power plant, Saito 1.80 converted to gas, or the 1.80 Moki, or the 40cc twin that's in the Pitts. But thats a long way off.
This is all Benji's fault for starting the build thread on his R2. The Gee Bee was happily sitting on the shelf while I flew my Pattern plane.
All seriousness aside, thanks Benji for something happy to think about.

I think GeeBees are awesome... but not made out of foam! A nice H9 ARF would be nice.. 50-60cc size

Okay. I am going to have a different take on this. Looking at it from the marketing side. The plane defiantly has the qualities to sell. Gee Bees have that look that modelers like. But sometimes that is not enough. I have seen planes fly off the shelves simply because of clubs flying them a lot and getting others to buy them because of interest and fun. It’s the typical club field thing we see. Guy comes out with new toy, flies it a dozen times, has fun, others watch and “Boom” you just sold another 5 of them!!!

With that said there are limitations in my opinion. Cost, ease, choice. If you can meet all of those you got a great seller. The Gee Bee has the reputation as you all know. So simple is key. I think 850mm to 1400mm foam. It’s not going to be your primary flyer. Use plenty of cheap 3S or 4S packs and AS3X a must. Strong and forgiving light airframe. Low wing-loading a must because landing speeds should be low enough to not cause too much damage. So, price point on this one very important in my opinion. $199-$249.

Also, this can be more expensive for production, but you need to offer variations. People are not all going to want to have the same aircraft. There is a list a mile long of beautiful Cleveland Racers from the day that many of us recognize. Having a line of models from this era makes is fun for clubs. As an example, one guy started flying a Flyzone Triplane and had a ball with it. Many members noticed. Our club had a blast with the little Flyzone WW1 micros. There was a line of 5-6 to choose from. Needless to say, the sky was filled with WW1 micro Flyzone foam!!! So, offering variety is also important.

Guys will pull the trigger on this one as a nice to have model but not a must. So cost and ease a must. However, it all depends on audience. You can go crazy with a high end larger design or a more broad audience. But all of this depends on manufacturing costs vs qty and break even.

As I always said in this industry the best you can do is loose 10%!!!!! If you can do that, you had a good year!!!

Nothing too big, just that they selected the 8 companies that will work towards developing the remote ID software. Nothing to do with our designated flying fields at least so far.

Let's keep more sweet air-frames coming !
