That thing needs internal combustion. Electric stuff is for rookies.

I have exciting news to share: I am now accepting pre-orders for the 20cc DHC-2 Beaver kit! The time has come for me to place the first order with the manufacturer, so I've launched a pre-order campaign to help raise funds to get this project moving.

There are two pre-order bonuses. First, shipping will be free! Second, I'm including a DHC-2 Beaver ceramic coffee mug with each kit ordered. At this time I expect kits to ship in the Jan/Feb time frame. Check out my page on fundable.com below and secure your Beaver kit today!

Looks like a cool plane! I have been dreaming of a good 50-70cc kit IMAC plane hopefully you can create one of those someday. If i get bored I might pick up a beaver, although its not quite my style of flying, and 12# on a 20cc plane might be difficult to do scale aerobatics with, although it looks like it flies very well doing typical things a beaver might do.

We're down to the last day of pre-orders for the 20cc Beaver kit. Pre-orders will wrap-up about noon CDT tomorrow, so we have just over 25 hours left. If you've been waiting for the last moment to order, now is the time to jump in!

Pre-order gets free shipping, plus a nice ceramic Beaver coffee mug. During this campaign, we've also received word that the factory made an error in pricing the kit, so there's a possibility the final price will be higher than $319 (impact not yet certain). 😯 We will honor the $319 price for all pre-orders placed during this campaign, so ordering now will also lock in that price.

At long last, the Beaver kits are on the water, set to arrive in early August!

And, our website is live at: https://www.moustachemodelworks.com/

We've opened up the website for ordering the Beaver, so you can place backorders now. There are no special deals for backordering, just that your kit will ship out as soon as the stock arrives.

Thanks for hanging with us through this loooooong process!

David

Army Beaver

Beaver Prototype #2 flew a number of weeks back. It also made a showing at Toledo, where it captured 3rd place in Military Sport Scale!

Beaver Kits Shipping!

The 20cc Beaver kits are now in stock and shipping!

Chris Kramer got to fly both prototypes at Warbirds & Classics Over the Midwest in Fond du Lac, Wisconsin yesterday. He now owns a kit. (To be honest, he bought the kit before he got to fly them, but that makes for a nice story).

If you've been waiting for stock to arrive, it's time to order at www.moustachemodelworks.com

Thanks to Andy Gideon, here’s the first video footage of the Army Beaver! Just some relaxed flying around the pattern with a touch & go and a landing at the end.

This is with a DLE-20 that’s still not quite tuned to peak yet. I never went over 60% throttle during the flight, and spent most of it at 40%-50% throttle.

Beaver footage begins at 56:55.
