hello jase,
witch of two planes ( slick and extra v2) is better for imac?

In talking with him last weekend at Toledo I am sure he will choose the Extra.

Both have the same potential for IMAC. The differences between the two are in weight (Extra is a pound lighter) and roll rate (Slick rolls a bit faster).

Jase in the video you've moved to a different size prop. is it just for this particular airframe ? Also how do you compare it to the 27x11 prop?

What is the recommended Aileron deflection in degrees? Ailerons look huge - much bigger than the slick 580.

I use 24 degrees Up and 23 degrees down for IMAC. I think the 3D guys (and Gals.) use everything they can get.

Still 38-40 degrees as I recall for max roll rate.

Jase, just see you posted some pics of the 125" Extra 300 V2 on FB, is this also coming out this spring?

Looking forward for one of those to fly IMAC.

I recently fly IMAC/3D with my 105.5" Slick and it flyes like an arrow! LOL... my setup:

DLE-120cc with Falcon 27x11 Prop
JR 8711 all around with double Pull-Pull rudder servo
Savox S1270 for throttle
SmartFly EQ6 Turbo

Deflections (IMAC):

Ailerons: +12 degrees / -12 degrees
Elevator: +10 degrees / -10 degrees
Rudder: +30 degrees / -30 degrees

Loving it!

Picked up my Extra 300 V2 at Nall, just unboxed and starting to work on it. Looks great!

Total 10 flights on this so far. Maiden was done last week and I got 5 flights today between the rain showers.

Setup

GP 123 V2
27x11.5 Custom prop for maiden and then tried 27X11 today
Bluebird 42A
Single 6014HS Futaba
Booma switch
6600mah 2S LIPO 65C X 2 (300grams each)

Weight:

Fuselage with canopy, cowl, prop, spinner 9350grams
Batteries: 600grams
Wings 1100grams each
Tube 300grams

Total 12450grams ~ 27.5lbs

This was my 1st build without epoxy - I used thin and medium CA just about everywhere including the hinges.

Thoughts:

Roll are much better with this compared to the V1.
Flight chars are also very good - very very few tendencies compared to the V1.
The hardware package is also better compared to the Slicks 580 hardware package.
The 2 tube stab is great - no more slop and it will handle the stress of all the XA type flying.
The cowl is almost 8-9oz lighter than the V1.

Was not very windy today so cannot comment on its ability to handle the wind yet.
