Well just think how strong the LG plate must be if the CF gave before it did.

An update for those interested: The red/white/black Extra in the pictures was the final prototype/proof of concept model. This model is 104" span and 101" length designed for 85-120cc engines. I have emailed final revision and hardware details to the factory and I expect that we will begin production very soon with hopes of getting some here by year's end. This model is designed for 3D and extremely agressive freestyle flying as seen by Donatas, RJ Gritter, Daniel Holman and the like. It features dual carbon main wing spars and full length shear webbing to withstand the grueling high G maneuvers displayed by this new generation of high performance RC pilots. Standard features will include carbon fiber wing and stab tubes, CF main landing gear and tailwheel assembly as well as removeable SFGs. The aircraft is also an excellent choice for IMAC competition.

Glad to see a different color scheme.

THX Daniel, I did not know what his schedule was on them. Glad to hear one of them is coming.

In a way it will give you an advantage in a hard landing because they will de-lam before the fuse breaks. The pancake landing that the proto had didn't damage the gear plate at all and they were flying an hour later! These things are TOUGH!

It's always better to have the gear break rather than the fuse.
