Byron F4U Corsair.......found!
This project presented itself.....kinda of a time capsule, I've always wanted one but never could afford it myself as a kid in the 80s. Sure is an exact copy to my Hangar 9 seen in the foreground. Has Robart Retracts, the sought after Byron Corsair Wheels, Quadra 52 Purrr-n-power set up, all the plans and documents included. Probably start later this year on it and have some professional help (paint, finish work etc)

That project has been bouncing around my head too, same thing, wanted one back in the day but out of my price range. |

I had a Byron Zero, Pitts, and Husky and still have a complete Christen Eagle kit in the stash. All were great flying airplanes. I would suggest a DLE55 or 61 for power. The old Quadra is a boat anchor compared to the new engines and not near as reliable. That's what is nice about the Byron engine mount is anything will fit on it. Really well engineered and I wish it was still available. Nice project you have there.
