No plans at this time for lightened cylinders.
Thanks
Thanks for the info. 1499 seems like a great price considering the limited production! Makes me want one for my carf spitfire.

Is there a drawing with dimensions available? As I mentioned in an earlier post, I'm interested in in one of these for an older Fiber Classics, 102" P51 that I still have new in the box waiting to be built but I've had some difficulties getting past the initial cost of the engine. If I had some measurements, so I could be sure it would be a good fit, it would make the decision much easier.
My main concern is distance from the prop washer to the tallest part of the engine so I can determine if I can keep the engine almost fully enclosed in the cowl.

I don't know if it is correct or not, better check with DA to make sure...

Someone please measure up the CARF spitfire. 95mm from crank centre to edge of the carbs according to those PDFs.
We managed to fit the DA85 in the CARF mustang with only the plug cap sticking out, so this thing being a smaller piston will help. But will the carbs fit in ?
Bugger. Another thing to add to the list. Thanks Dave !!

DAtech thank you for our response. nice to know that it has a couple extra rpm over the boxer that is interesting. it sure would be nice to see it on you-tube running. if or when you run another DA-100I would you be kind enough to make a short video of it thanks.

There was company back in the early 90's that were making such V-Twin beasts - they used to advertise in radio control modler

One question about the exhaust system for this motor if you installed a single canaster because of it 180 degree firing and it be a 100I twin making each cylinder 50cc. Would you install a canister made for a DA 50. That sure would make for light and compact system.

We find that a 75-85cc size canister works best.

Bogan i think it would fit fine in the spitfire with a bit of work. I have an old zdz 80 on my spit and the plug hangs out a bit. It could fit inside completely with a prop extension but this installation focused with simple and functional as a priority.. You would probably have to remove the firewall and move it aft and would need some ducting to keep it cool with teh 100. I am contemplating going to a 3w 85 for a biit more zing as i have it already, but the 100 inline would be nice. The spits wing is very thick and you arent going to get much more speed with the exrta power but would get better vertical performance.

Cool thanks. I was wondering if the carbs are going to clear the fuse sides or be poking out in the breeze. That'd look bit silly on a nice spitty.

Getting sucked in real fast engine fits inside a 8 inch wide fuse. From DA 75 to 80 cannester will do the job. So I can use one off my cannesters from my DA 150. Now that only leaves the need for a manifold from the two cylinders to the cannester. And the dimensions for the header. Really does not matter most of us will make it fit as long as it does not stick out more than 95 mm the same as the carb side.
