The pipe hardly weighs anything. Even if you had to add a little weight to the nose after shifting your batteries forward, it would still be a dramatic improvement over stock and no way cancel out the additional power. Made the switch on my 91 Laser and don't know that I'll ever run a DA70 without an RE3 ever again!

The way I see it --- with the length of the pipes , a lot of the weight is over the CG . ( not needing nose weight ) Pipes are not that heavy . and the notable HP and more RPM that they will give you , will out do any nose weight you may need to add .

I have two headers and two Smooth Pipes on my Yak 55 M --- It pulls out of a hover with attorney

re3 install

So to make it clear will a Re 3 pipe fit in the 70cc Mamba, with the 2 to 1 header?

Well I forgot I started this thread...so I put the RE3 on my bushmaster, turns 7400rpm 24 x 9 falcon...sounds like an old school two stroke dirt bike from the 80s...If you can build it so you don't have to put an extension on the stinger...had mine fall off is how I know it sounds even better without it, but plane gets messy inside....

This is the way to go I think for the 70, weight is nothing on the pipe and header

How about a RE2? I have one that I was going to use on a DA-50, just curious if it would be OK on a DA-70.

The DA-70 with the Y header and RE3 is the quietest gasser setup I have heard, assuming you don’t rip the prop.

And a throttle curve works as well. At most of the places around here noise is definitely an issue, but at other places it isn’t. So at the noise sensitive places, I clip the upper part of the curve and assign it to a switch.
A curve is certainly cheaper than a new prop and spinner.
