Hey Tom,
Thank you. Great explanation on the glues. Your right on the 2. I usually use it for the wings and stabs balsa LE and TE. Sands well no issues. We have 3 planes all withing the same size range. This one. Next is the SU26 126" a Cap 232 125" then my personal plane Velox Rev. II 125". So it will be busy over the months. Take Care |

Interesting - I looked up the data sheet for the 30 min ZAP ZPoxy and it said
Shear Strength, Steel: 2500 psi, Aluminum: 1400 psi. I can see why the titebond would be far superior for some applications. Sorry for the sideways thread jack, but I'm enjoying the build as well! B. Quote:

No worries. As long as it holds to make sure these large investments last for years. Thats all that counts.

Thats great Tom, Thanks for that, Can be a bit confusing, Especially when you want to make sure your using the best / Right product.
So Really Titebond 1 for general building , Titebond 2 in place of epoxy. Or just Get Titebond 2 and use it for everything ? Im Building a EMHW Bellanca XXL soon, So want to have the right glues. |

Wheel Pant molds
Wheel pant molds done. This is always the part in developing new planes is making plugs and molds is very time consuming. But will last a lifetime if taken care of.

Every builder has their preferences but I think Titebond 2 is a good overall glue |

Agreed.. I haven't used Sig Bond. I take it sands well to to hide seams? I use Tight Bond II for that also.

Hatch's
As posted earlier. When things are finalized. We have decided to include both hatch materials and canopies so you can if you choose.
Make both and swap for a single place or a 2 place. Its designed to let either hatch fit with simply taking one off and putting the other on. Just thought it would be a cool option. |

Cowl molds
Finished epoxy primered, parting boards made. Using Excel mold release. That stuff is great.

Second Plane stating
Going off the build on the first plane. We had call from a long time customer/friend over 20 years. Simply said build me one. So while were in build mode were starting it also. Plane two will have a lightened up DA200 on canisters.

Instrument panel templates
Laser cut Instrument panel templates. Single place, Two place and the SU 26 panel. We use these to cut and drill the holes. Then we place the plastic panels on a small vacuum former to make the bubble lenses for the panels.
