I forwarded that letter to my local Congresswoman. She previously responded with some generic letter not saying anything. I don't believe these politicians are taking the time to understand the issues. They, like the FAA, are lumping us all together as toy drone users because it takes too much time to understand this.

I encouraged her to contact the IN representatives to better understand the issues.

Seems like the AMA could have explained this simple concept to them years ago!

I fly model airplanes, replicas of the real full size type. The multi rotor drones are cool to watch while in the hands of a responsible operator.

But when this kind of stuff happens, unfortunately it gives everyone a bad name,,, and I'll leave that at that.

This occurred yesterday,,,

Well the good news is that the drone operator must have been registered and had his FAA number on the drone. So when they find the drone, they will be able to identify him/her.

Unless, of course, whomever owns the drone uses the standard line of folks who:
1) Burn their car for insurance money or
2) Have an accident and run away
IT WAS STOLEN!
Then the FAA will need to prove beyond a reasonable doubt that whomever owns the drone was at the controls at the time of the incident............good luck with that
