Just because Actually, I’ve split the “advanced wing” into 3 because;

(A) It seems like a natural joint, the centre section will have flaps, the outer ailerons and, if I can get my head around it, slats.

(B) Having a centre section and 2 outer wing sections allows me to play with different configurations - I can design a centre section with 0 dihedral and outer sections with either polyhedral or 0 dihedral, different degrees of washout, etc. To be honest, it’s more a CAD training exercise, the main plan is for a 2 piece full span aileron wing.

Ultimately I’m just looking to design a bit of a “club hack” - something that with the basic wing can be used as a trainer or with the advanced wing can be used for a bit of fun and experimentation.

I also want to use it as a platform to play with more advanced wiring/programming setups, but that’s a tertiary thing.

I looked on the website and it says his Father is having health issues. I am sure he has a lot on his plate . Having gone thorough the same thing a few years ago . I know everything else gets put on hold .

I saw that and Ive been through it as well and i totally understand, i basically ignored any comments around that time frame but theres a big gap from 2019 to 2021 of no comments then everything negative going forward
I know the rule that the majority of satisfied people never say anything and it doesnt take much to get someone upset and complaining these days

would you guys buy from him?

I have no idea what the negative comments you read were regarding, but honestly, I'd call one of the phone numbers on their home page. Talk to them before placing an order online. Maybe you have already done so?

I have to teach my young engineers that there's more to getting answers from suppliers and customers than just emailing. Email just pushes it off your desk, and it may go into an empty void. Again, if you have not yet done so, call them until you get an update on their situation, and are satisfied with their response. A good idea would be to ask how long to expect an order to be fulfilled.

Above all, be nice and courteous on the phone, even if the person you call is not. People are much more likely to go out of their way to help people who are understanding and nice to them.

FB reviews on his page and the BBB in his area oddly enough popped up

I havent purchased yet since i have no need to rush, Im well aware calling vendors is quite helpful, and as an engineer I do so frequently rather than emailing. Im also well aware talking to current customers in the field can and is pretty helpful.

Ill probably give them a ring sometime next week

I'll throw another one in, Seagull Maxilift, I've got one was on a 32cc Petrol but now on a 150 Laser glow, flies really well, not surprising really as it's virtually a copy of a Multiplex Big Lift.

Is Abell Hobby still a thing? They had a big plane made for a camera platform that took down into several pieces for transport. 30cc..I think 90"+.
