Hangar9 1/4 Scale PA-18 Super Cub PnP.....

Thought i'd start a new thread as all the H9 cub threads are old and i couldn't find one on the new PA-18 Super Cub PnP version now available.

Anyway i have just bought one and will be adding the light kit and cabin kit + i have always wanted a Cub with the Tundra Tyre set up so have ordered some from PR Bush Wheels in Alaska along with the 1/4 scale shocks and Tail Wheel set up. http://www.prbushwheels.com/

I have done an Un-Boxing for those maybe wanting to see what you get in the PnP. Will also do a bit of the build video and then the maiden flight.

Hope this helps anyone new to the game and looking at getting a 1/4 scale Cub just about ready to go!

cheers chuck

Hey, nice to see you stepping up for a "real" model! Great choice, it's one of the best (prettiest) ARF Cubs around!

I have mine now too! I also opted for the lights and all options. Should be a great build.

Chuck, did you get all these items from PRBushwheels? I am only finding the shocks and wheels on their site. I sent an email to Steve. So will see what I get in reply for that.

Cool, finally someone is putting those wheels on the correct aircraft! That's got to be a first.

I just got my Hangar 9 PA-18 Super Cub and am impressed with the kits looks so far. I do have one thing that is puzzeling, it looks like the ailerons have upper and lower control linkages, like a pull-pull (slots in the top and bottom of the wing, aligned with each other) and I don't find anything in the instruction manual that explains this. Anyone have already built one of these and noticed this or am I missing something? (be gentle)

It might just be a scale detail. That said' I have never seen one in person!

I think I found it and it does look like a scale phony linkage for looks. I haven't put anything together yet and already finding non-essential weight! (OK, just a little but still)

Yes it is just to make it look scale! it is a rod attached to nothing inside!

i think it just adds to the out of the box scale look

cheers chuck

Yeah, finally noticed the bare ended rod. I hope to get into this build starting on Monday. Thanks!

Hmm, I did not realize that was just a rod for looks. (I have not fully inspected mine yet). They really made sure the scaleness of the plane was accounted for in all aspects.

A complete setup from PR Bush wheels (wheels, shocks, tail wheel) will really set this off. I have already ordered mine.

Yes, its a scale appointment, it just slides in and out of a hole in a bulkhead in there for looks.

I got to examine a full scale SC while building my H-9 and there's a lot of details that are duplicated on the model, I was surprised
