The mounts are still in place and my goal was to keep everything in tact so I could go either way. The baffling is a bit more complicated on this plane due to the one piece cowl but that part ended up being pretty minor because I had already worked it out with the 200. Just a cut here and there and reglue everything.

All goals have been met on the retro fit of the motor side of things.

This plane should really come alive with the 222. The 200 was ok, but I founding myself wanting more power. This motor should be the perfect fit for this plane. All up weight should be between 44 and 45 pounds. Pretty much what it was before the engine change.

Hello, can you please tell me how many millimeters the metal angle tube you used for that bend.... And also what size clamps ?
I'm guessing 28 or 30mm ? Not sure which to buy from aircraft international. I have the same engine. I need to extend mine straight by 6". Thanks for your time.

This will be my first 4 cylinder motor. I currently have a Tech Aero IBEC for the ignition. Does anyone see an issue with running 2 IBEC's? Or just using a Y - harness for just running 1 IBEC.? Or I'm using the EQ10 Smartfly board, just plugging the extra ignition to the 2nd open channel?

I'm about to drill the prop for my 222. Does anyone know if it matters if I drill it so the magnet hits the top pickup sensor first or the bottom sensor first?

I drill (clock) my props where I hit compression so right side blade (from front) is at two o'clock position. This gives me the best position for propping. This works for me on twins or quads.
I would drill it so the position is best for you to prop it safely and correctly. Not sure why I would worry about where the magnets are. It's where the hub stops on compression that counts. Hope this helps.

Run 1 IBEC per ignition - this will give redundancy even though a single IBEC will handle both ignitions
I prefer this method and have had no issues on all my twin spark comp 3W engines
I power strait from the gear chanel on a power box, gear switch will kill both ignitions

Thanks. I have decided to run 2 ibec's. I currently have 3 flights on the dle222 and it's pretty amazing. I'mrrunning it on a 3dhs 126 " slick. Swinging a 32x12 prop.

Clocking on a 3 blade is kind of a preference thing. Ive seen usually one blade strait up so the other 2 blades are down at say 5 and 7 oclock. I think if I ran a 3 blade, I would probably offset the top blade to the right a bit (looking from front), again to give me the most comfortable position for propping.
