[QUOTE=Rusty 73;2785907]Clark hymas had a similar situation but his happened during flight and he was able to land the plane a post the issue with the fuse . Seem at point in the fuse receives alot of load and a sharp angle between the turtle deck and canopy only seems to to be a weak spot .

Not any more! swapped the scarf jointed 4' 3/8 square Balsa Longerons for full length Spruce that we ripped and planed to 3/8 square from rough cut stock. Added about 6oz, but the 7 oz savings from new gear and carbon pants from Nester made the weight gain a wash.

Missing from this montage is the photo of BDub thanking the smoke gods for spitting his plane back out of the smoke so he could fly it again

Just's to show how smokey it was on Sunday, after the unknowns and having Paul Jr call for me I was ready for the next round.

Not to be ,I didn't mind the smoke but Brain had other thoughts .

Sure it is, zoom in on the bottom Longeron, you can see the scarf joint inside the hatch area.

Heres the final result! She's almost ready for battle again!!

MERRY CHRISTMAS ALL!!

Very nice like the color scheme, didn't know i had a aircraft building co. named after me .

Makes cents using sitkia on the bottom longeron, one of weakest place when a foam isn't used .
My PAU are very fraglie on the belly , no sitkia in these ARFs

The NW is beautiful! You could at least come up and fly with us. My home field (in Oregon) IMAC contest in June is only 40 miles north of the California border. We've been trying to get some SW guys to come up years past.

Our club has done a great job with building our pattern contest as a NW (district 8) vs SW (district 7) shootout since we are centered with each. This last year for the NW we had a contestants as far as Canada, with Washington and Idaho also making the trip. For the SW we had Bay area, Sacramento, and as far as Bakersfield make it up. I would love to see something similar for IMAC.
