TF GS P-47 tail wheel door mechanism

Getting a bit frustrated trying to have a solid means to close the tail wheel doors on my GS TF P-47. I'm using a Robart air system for the tail wheel, Sierras on the main.

I want to keep a positive pressure on the tail wheel doors, both when they are 'out' and when the tailwheel is retracted. The doors where made with fiberglass and are now in two pieces.

Anyone have any ideas or pictures? Thanks in advance

How did you determine the location of the cross piece on the actual door?

My cross piece moves too much, maybe I will have to look at its location. I like the simple arrangement you have - it does look reliable....thanks for sharing!

I used some springs on my recent P47 build. They work nice since they stretch just a little when the gear goes up and then push the doors solidly open when the gear comes down.
You can get the springs and the hardware store then cut to size.
I hooked the springs to the gear door hinge one the door side and pur a screw that has a safety wire hole in it for the gear side. Could just drill a small hole in the gear for the spring wire, guess there are various ways to attach it.
