'14 Nationals 4-minute Flights

Couple cool flights from Rob Holland and Jeff Boerboon at Nats last Friday. Rob won the 4-minute (and the regular competition), but Jeff was just a couple percentage points behind Rob in the 4-minute program. Special mention goes to Goody Thomas who placed 1st overall after the 4 flight total, but the 4th team selection (2nd Free Unknown) flight doesn't count toward the official standings. Goody's flying is the cleanest I've ever seen from a U.S. pilot.

Jeff Boerboon's 4-minute Free at 2014 IAC US Nationals (3 min 52 sec)

Rob's negative push at about 0:57 took my breath away. The video is excellent but seeing it in person was another experience entirely.

Meanwhile, Jeff's rolling harrier and blender reminded me of R/C flying. Jeff is a talented R/C pilot as well as one of the best full scale acro pilots in the world.

Thanks for posting those!

Jim

Yeah, that was a surprisingly hard push at an unexpected moment. Rob says pushing will always suck, but you get used to it sucking. That one must have really sucked.
