3DHS 106 Edge 540 Crash

I have been flying the 106 Edge pretty hard for a year now and it was getting pretty worn out, so not a huge loss. Just glad my wife was there with the camera to capture it! Enjoy!

Sick flying man well done I was hoping you would bring it down in one piece after losing the elevator it would have been a lot more satisfying for me

Thanks! Yeah, I could of brought it down with one elevator, but honestly I just wanted to push it. That poor edge has been such a great air frame for me and I have beaten it to death. It was really time to retire that bird. Since the air frame was in such bad shape, I wouldn't get much for it, I would basically have to give it away. So I wasn't worried about crashing it.

I thought it was an awesome video. And I would've probably done the same thing. You were flying the crap out of that airplane.

I tend to agree with SHudson....whatever enjoyment you had, it didn't need to be shared. watching a DA 120 tumble across the grass....well, whatever floats your boat.

I kind of agree with both sides: he was flying the heck out of it and having a good time. OTOH, I don't have the disposable income to replace a 100cc airframe every year, and even if I did, I wouldn't take the chance on damaging the other expensive components, like the DA120 and servos, etc.

What I DID find interesting, was how well it really did fly with only one elevator half--the power-to-weight and huge surfaces all of our current planes have make up for a lot...

It's a V1 - the difference being the earlier versions were built in the 3DHS factory and the new one is EF. I had one - very nice flying airplane.

Ha ha! I'm glad most of you guys get it. I love the 3DHS Edge, phenomenal plane, this was was just ready for the boneyard. They can only take some many years of abuse before they simply wear out. More fun to push the limit versus strip it down and hang it on the wall. I didn't want to crash, but I was okay with crashing.

And yes, the DA120 will go back just to get a check up, just to make me feel better. But honestly motor is fine. All electronics are good as new.

And for anybody that is upset... sorry I broke my "Toy" Airplane.

But seriously, everybody has a right to their opinion, no hurt feelings here. I would gladly have a beer with any of you.

I'm about to post this airframe for sale (For Free) in the classifieds. I'm all about paying it forward to someone who could use the spare parts or has the time and patience to tackle a serious rebuild!

I just enjoy the hobby and like to have fun!

Rob
