I sent an email to Extreme Flight and this is the response I received yesterday:

As this airframe is still in the development stage we do not have a release date as of yet.
We'll post more info as it comes available.

During the summer there was mention of it being released before Christmas. If you have notifications turned on as soon as it hits their website for ordering you will most likely be notified through this thread. Someone will most likely update this post. I am hoping it starts shipping before the spring....

Hope the 94" MXS comes out soon. I'm looking for a project now. Can't wait much longer.

EF will sell to Canada. If you live near the US border you can get a US address setup through a UPS store. Having it shipped there will save on shipping and you just drive across the border and pick it up.

Sorry I responded via cell phone and just realized you are in Nova Scotia so my suggestion does not work unless you know someone near the border....unless there is a USP store in Nova Scotia that does pickups from a border UPS store.

Sure seems like EF is getting out of the 30% plane business. Even the 88" Edge with EXP stabs needs a DA60, it isn't a light plane. I am guessing a DA85 is the preferred engine on a 94" MXS?

The 94" MXS is apparently designed around the DA70.

DA70 is what the 94" MXS is based around. EF is not getting out of any % plane size, they currently offer 3 planes that are 30%: 91" Extra/Yak54 and the 88" Edge are all 30% planes. Were you meaning 50CC stuff??? If so then yes they currently do not have any true 50CC birds (in the sense we think of 50cc anyway) although any of those 30% planes would fly fine on a DA50, they just would not 3D well. I did put a DA50 on my 83" MXS and that is proving to be a nice combo.

They all need a DA60/DA70 or equivalent to fly nicely. IMHO a 30% plane flies nicely on a DA50 and great on a DLE55. And they fit easily in the back of a pickup with a 6.5' bed. E.G. PilotRC 30% Extra 260 and Yak54.

I am also reading frequently and experienced personally that the gas planes with the EXP stabs are coming out tail heavy. Please don't get me wrong, my EF 88" Edge with a DA60 and Pro Flow canister is a wonderful plane. Its just big and heavy and has all the batteries are on the motor box.

I totally agree with you, not to mention any names but I stated this once awhile back, that to get decent vertical with the EF-Edge and a DA-50 you needed to put a pipe on it and this person quickly went in defense mode. I would not have said it if I didn't experience myself.

Correct me if I am wrong but when 50cc first came out they had 84 and 85 inch wing spans. The DA-50 was a great fit for those frames. To get better flying airframes the planes grew and the DA-50 became under-powered, now the engines are catching up and the frames are growing again.

It's also starting to happen with 30cc airframes now, they are growing in size to what the old 50cc frames were. Though the new 83" MXS is designed around the DA-35 your probably better off with the 50 on it. I saw Jase's video with the 83" MXS and the DA-35 but I noticed he is running a composite pipe on it. That video makes me wonder if the DA-35 is under powered with the stock exhaust. If I have to buy a composite pipe to get vertical performance I would rather have the DA-50.

Please don't take any of this as negative, I am just stating my opinion. I think EF makes some of the best airframes out there.

I know I may have went on a tangent here but this has been on my mind for a few years now.

BTW to sort of answer you questions with the planes becoming tail heavy and hard to balance is because of their longer tail moment, and between that and lighter engines we have the problem of balancing the planes. (I believe the reason why EF planes fly so well is because of the longer tail moment)

I can't wait to see the comments on my post.
