Re: Real world RPM

Get used to the oil splatter it will take a while before that goes away ( at least
with my experience with the DA150). I would run a Mejlik 30x10 instead of the
32x10, especially when new. This prop will suprise you I guarantee! When the
motor breaks-in it can be a little loud on the top end, but for 3D the throttle
response is awesome.

Re: Real world RPM

I have a CRRC Pro GF45I 45 cc engine converted from petrol to methanol. no changes made other than an adaptor to use a standard glow plug. this engine turns a bolly 20x8 carbon prop at 7700rpm.

it uses my own design of muffler that is separate to the engine eg...the muffler is solid mounted to the airframe. exhaust is via an engine header pipe through a flexible joiner then to the muffler.

fuel/oil ratio is 40:1 synthetic oil/ methanol.

its no powerhouse like a DA 50....but it hauls my 84" wingspan extra around no worries. all up weight is around 8kg's the engine is making around 12kg's of thrust on the ground....would expect around 14kg's thrust in the air once the prop unloads a little.

Just got a 1999 toc 150 3w cans , 30-10 mejzlik turning 6000 with a module thats not advancing correctly, 87 octane shell, 50-1 quicksilver oil. Had to advance hall effect to max by enlarging the holes laterally. Does anyone know what component in the module controls the advance. Am electronics tech, and could change the faulty component. Thanks for any help. No blue dot, 4.8 volts on module

I believe the ignitions are sealed and non repariable, the timing advance is not adjustable.

After flying I noticed a ton of exhaust splatter under the plane when I was cleaning it. Should I crank down a little on the high needle or leave like it is for break in. With it right now it pulls the plane around real good.
Have noticed the oil residue after some wild aerobatics, on the bottom of my plane, also noticed a stream of gas cxoming from the plane when the light was right, was about 20 feet long. Installed nylon tubing from the tank overflow to the back of the fuse near the tail wheel, this problem went away, so did this to all my planes. Now there is no residue after flying. Also sachs 8.4 ci, 30-10 mejzlik, 87 octane , quicksilver oil, 50-1, turned average 6000. Hope this helps. Regards to all Jack

HI Dan think i have solved the problem, Just got a c&h twin module with syncro spark, with the cm6 plug covers. Dont have to mount it to breathe either, am sure it will work ok, will post the results later Thanks for the response.. Jack

HI Dan, nd everyone Ordered a c&h twin module for the 3w 150 and ran it yearerday, results same gas, oil, prop as before 6400 rpm, with the same needle settings, so the 3-w module was not advancing ,or retarding at all,and the engine idled at 1000 rpm, and was very smooth running at all speeds. An it does not have to be mounted so air can circulate around it. Regards Jack

Fuji 50 with stock muffler
50:1 fuji oil
87 octane
2 gallons-factory settings
Mejlick 22x8--7100

Very happy with the motor. Seems competitive with others of similar class.
