Only thing about buying from ebay is that sensor mount won't work for a DA in the original mounting screw holes. You can't get enough advance timing with it like you can with Miltons mount,it's a bolt on replacement works good. And I do like the RCAME ignitions better than DA's or RCEXL,much brighter, crisper sounding spark.

The Extra balances with no additional weight added with the lightened DA-50. That is what I have in mine.

I've never paid this much attention before. But have you noticed how the control horns often do not want to seat completely down into the slot? Well, it is due to the fact that the control horns are cut out using small, ROUND bits. The solution is to use an Exacto knife to cut the surplus material out of the corners. Voila!

Kind of wondering that myself. Might be a weight issue though...

It's 11" wide at the back of the cowl where it meets the fuse. I reckon it gets slightly more narrow towards the front, but not much.... 10.75"?

Gonna be an awesome plane!
I have noticed that before, but I used a small file to lengthen the slot if I want it to sit flush, a radius in the corner is stronger than a sharp corner, but in this application I think just glued in half assed and with the pushrod installed it's probably 5x stronger than necessary.

Yes LOL

The reason for fussing with it is to be sure the mechanical throws turn out correctly.

I painted the motor box and firewall with Automotive paint and clear cote. Looks good from the front of plane where you can see in, and it protects from gas.

Also made new braces for my ES50 Tuned Pipe. The holes in the supplied are designed for a larger can. New braces are not beautiful as I only had a Dremel and a hole saw to work with. But I they will be functional.

I am a little concerned about the size of the hole on the new braces. With the silicone spacers installed, the pipe fits and touches all 4 spacers, but it is not really tight inside them. Should I set the braces slightly off center from each other to force the pipe tight against one side of each brace, or just let it sit in the middle without being really snuggle held in place?

I would wrap your pipe with a bunch of layers of whith Teflon tape in the area that the sylicone tubes are not fitting as snug as you like.
