I have a friend who is the chief pilot for a charter operation out of Lauderdale Exec. and he wants me to fly right seat with him to Teterboro NJ in a Lockheed Jetstar today. 1430 departure so stay tuned for some sick vids and pics from the flight levels later tonight!!!

Nice lookin Jetstar II. Your lucky, not to many people have the opportunity to do what your doing or the opportunity to fly something as cool as that. Fist full of 731's!!! I have had the chance to fly a couple of different versions of that plane and they were all a very good time. Congrats and have a great time!

PS- I really hate that Teterboro place though!!

You might want to call about fuel prices before you fire that thing up. Maybe just use # 2&3, then shut down 3 on descent. I haven't been to TEB in years but if it's like any other New York area airports.....I hate it too.

I live about 3 mins away from Teterboro. It's pretty much the coolest place on earth. I dont know what you guys are talking about. I flew in there this morning... (on the sim) So what if there's jets flying up your butt while your trying to land. and so what if the controller is screaming at you as you come down... ( I dont know if that actually happens)and So what if there is 3 other major airports within 30 miles of eachother. But no sceriously, some times I go to the top of the parking garage in town and watch them go in. does not look like even a little bit of fun.

If your going into JFK, EWR, or LGA at least you get treated like a big airplane.
If your going into TEB your among everything else that flies.
You'll be 30 miles from the airport at 3000' mixing it up with everyone.
If you into that and you like....

Short runways
Circling approaches
Demanding, low level-off departures
Delays
Both runways that intersect
Most taxiways have hold short points on them
Crowded ramps
Tall buildings and towers on approaches
Huge ramp fee's
High fuel prices

Then, Its an awesome airport!

TEB sucks ass.... hands down. Did a couple of right seaters in a G-200 and a couple 1900s down there. To say I was concerned while in the pattern would be an understatement. The nice tour of the taxi-ways and ramps was pretty sweet too... I thought for sure we were going to play bumper-planes.

LOL you guys are somethin else. Believe it or not TEB was DEAD!! No circle burnin on the way in and no ground holds. Meridian, where we dropped the passengers, was completely empty. I'd upload the pics now but that damn departure from TEB wore me out =P

I'll get them up tomorrow. In the mean time, dont go killin each other because TEB has a bad rep.

Re: Right seat to Teterboro

Alright sorry it took so long to get these up, I've just been to lazy to resize them all to meet the upload limits here.

Passengers were supposed to be on the plane at 2:30 pm yesterday. But its a rule in corporate aviation that the passengers MUST show up late. So 3:15 they pull up and the owner decides he wants Mc. Donalds. So he leaves to get micky D's for his kids. We finally got off the ground at 3:45. Good thing the capt. filed for a 4:00 pm proposed departure in the flight plane (he knew it was gunna happen ).

More in a minute...

There is a TFE 731 laden Jetstar at the Million Air where my son works and the first owner was Howard Hughes. The Hughes corp had it from '66 until '71 and only put 75 hours on the meter.
