I do keep my films in climate controlled environment, in sealed totes, no light, undisturbed. Nothing is about how my film was stored I'm sure... other films in same totes are just fine.

Other than the clear backing film going bad or sticking to the covering so it can't be removed, I find that old Monokote works and looks just like when it was new. In contrast, I have several rolls of old Ultracote that refuse to stay stuck to itself no matter how it is applied. Some of those rolls are the big ones so thats quite a bit of completely useless covering. These days, my covering is stored in totes and stored indoors but in years past, some of the Monokote was stored in an unheated garage and that never seemed to have an adverse effect.
