Privately-owned Mig-29

This old video gives an old fart pilot like me something to day-dream about...

Ultimate midlife crisis mobile is no longer a vette, or a harley...its a Mig.

First flight in the world of a privately owned MiG-29!!! (1 min 39 sec)

Larry Ellison wanted to buy a Mig-29 years ago and the US government told him "don't bother, we won't let you fly it."

Air USA isn't really a 'private' owner either. They provide dissimilar aircraft training as contractors to the USAF last I checked..

Don has more than enough money to fuel this plane. He has another one of these planes as well from what I recall.

My needs are so much less.. All I want is an MX-2 or a Pitts Model 12.

Me too. If they can't do my scheme I simply refuse to buy one. At least there is an up-to-date conventional fighter in the US now

How are they not a private company? There are hundreds of private companies that provide contract service to the Government.

The planes aren't usually as expensive as you would think...but the fuel cost is insane. A guy I fly with was thinking about buying one(older model...I don't know the number) but after seeing the fuel cost after his test flight with the owner ...he changed his mind.
