Cleaner for Composite Planes

Looking to see what is the best cleaner out there for a composite plane. I've been using Meguiars Auto Detailer for MonoKote before I bought my first fully composite plane. Any input would be appreciated.

I like Plexus and best used with micro fiber towels. Meguiars Detail and wax sprays are nice too. However those will not clean up the oily mess on the bottom of the fuselage like Plexus will.

30 / 70 mix of LA awesome cleaner & dollar general glass cleaner
Also works as a excellent brake dust cleaner for wheels - better than that high dollar stuff

CRC Brakleen! Nothing removes the black sticky goo like this does. Works with Monokote/Oracover/Solartex etc covered planes too.

For a composite plane I would recommend a good car wax before the flying season. If it helps keeping cars look good it helps keeping planes look good as well.

I've been using Aerocosmetics:
The red "wash all" for slime, oil, landing gear, etc and the blue "wash-wax-all" for general cleaning.
Works well on monokote, painted fiberglass and clear canopies... ...with smooth plush microfiber towels - bye bye paper towels!!!!!

ps. Buy the concentrate and refill a bottle... ...you'll start using it on a lot of other stuff!!!

I just started using the wash/wax and have been very happy with it thus far.

I grew up “putting that $&*# on everything”. But I figured it would lift the edges of moneykote so I never bothered. So it’s not a problem there?

I do know for a fact brake clean attacked some plastic parts a few years back, and made all the toggle switches on a tester of mine sling the levers across the shop so I urge caution either way.

I haven't had any problems so far. That doesn't mean it could happen. In my planes there are very few plastic parts that will be exposed to "that $&#". I will certainly keep this in mind.

This is great stuff. Look it up and watch the videos on it. Takes bugs, tar, oil, hook off and does not make covering film brittle
