I'm not one for build threads any more as life has got too busy so I build when i can but the below is the next warbird project, Maker is Phoenix Models, this will be my weekend warrior model.

Specs:
2.13m Wingpan
1.78m length
AUW: 20-24lbs
Power: 40-55cc

I did some research and overall this model shows some very good flight characteristics, I have seen one fly on a 40cc motor and a DLE55RA, the 55ra was a much better fit (power wise) and gave a very nice speed vs weight trade-off.

Landings were very slow and she did not drop a wing so this makes me happy as I'm used to jet type landings and having a good buffer for speed, specially on a warbird will be nice

I have an EME 60 on my bench that is new unsed so I will be using that motor, it is 180grams more weight in the front in comparison to the DLE55ra with stock mufflers, I might source an alternative muffler to drop some weight but the stock EME one is pretty light already.

Servos will be Power HD 16kg digitals all round, should be plenty for a warbird this size, power will be two 1200mah light weight booma LiFe packs for the RX through a double switch for safety, depending on who I get the retract actuators from I will either power them off those batts as well or run a separate pack for the retracts, with 8 servos on board (2 ail, 2 flap, 2 elev, 1 rud, 1 throttle) I will probably get only 7-8 safe flights per charge but I've got a good ground station for charging and I think the weight saving from 1200 packs will help offset the motor weight, For IC I will be running a dedicated pack to it, depending on weight I may consider running a filter from Rx instead of a dedicated pack.

Can't wait to get this one in the air, will be posting pics of maiden

Thanks, I like the 2 piece wing to and helps allot for me as I don't own a trailer or van, just an Nissan Xtrail, which is pretty big inside with seats down but does limit me in fuse length, If the fleet grows any more I might have to consider making a special rack inside the xtrail for wings.

I'll try to post more pics as it gets built but i'm a slow builder haha.

It works. However I took the inners off cause I couldn't slow down the gear enough. It slapped every time it closed. I'm going to try electric gears and see it will work better with it. It's my winter project.

Ziroli B-25-J "Panchito" 118 inch Version Scale 1/7

Hello

Some photos of my B-25-J "Panchito" built from Ziroli Plans, a woodkit from PCK and with Robart Retracts. The radio gear is Futaba and it has a Power Box Systeme powerbox to contol everything in the model. It has two RCGF Gas engines 50 cc. flat twins with a homemade muffler system. I have been flying the model this summer and it flies GREAT. My wife is actually my helper and "Crewchief" and she helped building the model too.
It is covered with epoxy and fibreglass clothing and aluminium foil from Mick Reeves in the UK, called Metal Coat.
The model actually spans 121 inch and the flying weight is 48 lbs. (thats 21.8 kg.).

Hi Henrik
Wow - just yesterday a guy named Jimmy that works for Siemens Wind power in Brande (but working at the Adair Iowa wind farm) was showing me photos of your planes. I was wishing I had got more info from him, but today I see your photos - too cool! Great planes you have and Jimmy says you are quite the pilot. I stopped by the Brande flying club this summer and had fun talking to the guys there.

Hello

Thanks to all of you for the kind words about my B-25, and Terry it is amazing how small the world can be, I know Jimmy very well,I am working as a Technical Trainer in Siemens Windpower in Brande, and I actually have been flying in The Brande Club too.
Today I am a member in another club where we have a big paved runway and the airspace you can fly in is without limits, and thats a great thing to have if you are flying big models and jets.

I'll have to get out to your flying club next time over - I'm a tooling engineer/developer in the US for SWP and have been over to Brande the last two summers. Hope to meet up with you sometime

Thanks
Terry
