I agree,but they complain when I'm the only one flying.When anyone else flys while I'm doing 3d I really lay low as far as full blown huckin goes.That just makes sense to me,but when I'm the only one on the line they should'nt be as concerned.I think it all comes down to they just don't like
3d for whatever reasons.As mentioned in a post earlier,it happens at every field out there.I like to get out there early but some of these old dudes are up at the crack of dawn popping Geritol & priming the their glow motors.At least they havn't voted to ban 3d altogether,not yet

We have 2 clubs nearby. One hates all 3D and the other is tolerant. I understand the safety concerns and abide by the rules on Sunday when everybody is out there. Hovering is done on the far side of the centerline with other people in the air. If it's you all by your lonesome they are kind enough to let you fly wherever you want. The only exception is at events, even if you're by yourself they want you on the far side, which is understandable. The FOG's rule the other club with an iron fist, no exceptions. They piss and moan, then fly standing on the runway, out of flight boxes so they can see their SPADS bite the dust close up I guess.

It's just they way of the world. If they blow, find a new club, or go out on the weekdays when nobody is there. Rules are very important, and all members should be 100% aware of them at all times. If the members are kind enough to be lax about it from time to time, just take the good with the bad.

Funky Old Guy. Replace Funky with whatever adjective you like. For the record, I would not be involved with this hobby and understand what I do if it was not for the FOG's.

I think Jim Carrey sums it up best:

Thanks for the FOG description, figured that. YAK are you flying out at the Newport News park club? Have you tried Fentress? Longer drive but may be worth it. I fly at the Chesapeake Flyers. Our FOG (meant nicely in this case) lands his plane, leaves it idling in the center of the runway and goes and takes a leak then takes it back up again. It was TOO FUNNY, man I was laughing.
