Daytona IMAC 2009? and GA IMAC 2009???
As many as you know I am attending college in Daytona Beach Florida right now. I am very lucky to have couple of friends of mine down here willing to keep my trailer so I am still able to fly Giant Scale on the weekends.
Before I start asking the club about the contest here in Daytona and GA I was wondering if yawl would like for the 2 events to go on for next year. The Daytona contest would probably be anywhere around first of February to April and the Georgia contest would be anywhere around Mid May to end of June or July. Over the next couple of weeks I will be looking for good possible dates for the events. As for the Georgia contest I wont know probably till December due to the fact our club is going through some financial problems right now and will be possibly looking for a new field by that time. But as far as I know where we had it last year the owner said we are WELCOME BACK!!! ![]() Thanks!!!! |

Hi Kev,
Great to hear that your excitement about IMAC is infecting others wherever you go. That's the kind of enthusiasm that we need to inspire the rest of us. Keep up the pressure on the Ga. crowd - we'll be there. Daytona sounds good too - just keep it away from Bike Week. That might be more wildness than most IMAC guys could handle. Good luck at school! Re: Daytona IMAC 2009? and GA IMAC 2009???
If your looking for a date to hold an event, I would get out a calendar and see what month and time of month last years events where held and look for an opening in the schedule. There are a lot of standing contest that take precedence.
Jan 17Th & 18Th will most likely be the weekend of the Season opener. Then you have a 3 day contest at the AMPS around the 3rd week in February with SE judging school somewhere in the middle of that. Then Venice in march, and another 3day contest @ Bay City April 18Th, 19Th & 20Th. Then Jacksonville in May. Maybe sometime between Bay City and Jacksonville before it gets too hot. The more contest the better! lets find an opening ![]() |

Re: Daytona IMAC 2009? and GA IMAC 2009???
Kevin,
Below is a link to the SE Results page. I use this list as a guide to determine when and where to plan an event. You are able to see contest dates all the way back to February 10, 2001 on the IMAC site. Also check the IMAC Home Page for scheduled events. I also check the AMA and IMAA calendar to see if there are any other events that will lower the contest attendance. Also please keep in mind that Don Hamilton as SE Regional Director will have to approve your chosen date. When you decide when and where your contest will be, log on to the IMAC web site and choose CD's Corner. Link provided. This is where you add new contest. http://www.mini-iac.com/DesktopDefault.aspx?tabid=91 Good luck! http://www.mini-iac.com/DesktopDefault.aspx?tabid=78 http://www.modelaircraft.org/events/...s/calendar.htm http://www.fly-imaa.org/imaa/events/index.html Kent Porter IMAC 3730 AMA 6724 |

Kevin, the more contests the better. Look forward to seeing you request for approval, after you get a chance to work it out with the local hosting club.
