Other than castle is what esc are you guys running anyone with any Jeti?
Also whats the best battery choise around? I whant some endurance...
I'm leaning to Savox 1260 I guess but MKS 747 are also an option....
My plane (flown by our team pilots) has 3700mAh. I am sure 4000 would be fine as well.
I use the Castle 90, but any 90 to 100 Amp will work.
I use the MKS 747. Any equivalent in torque and size will work.

PAU 300 need help with openings.

On the used PAU Extra 300 I bought it has all of the openings in the bottom of the fuselage shown in these pics. Is this correct and what was intended for it?

I found the answer in pictures in this thread on the first page. Thanks for the pics.

The opening on your plane is too far forward: it should be the bay behind, using the slanted balsa piece as a back stop to extract the airflow for cooling.

Thanks for the verification. I'm covering the openings now in front of and behind the landing gear and leaving that most rearward one open. No idea why the previous owner did the plane like he did.
I wonder if those unwanted openings could have affected the flight if I had flown it that way?

Love to the size of the fusalage...

Okay been flying 3d for 15 months, on my sixth plane
3rd PAU
Skywing Edge 60 inch
Pilot Extra 330sc
Aj Lazer

..been a hell of a journey this 3d flying...

The Plane specs
60 inch PAU supplied by CARF
Castle Talon 90 ESC
MKS HV 9767 Servos
Scorpion 540 kv 4020
4000 mAh nanotech LIPOS
Extra large 4 inch foam wheels for taking of on long wet grass fitted with pants...
16 x 7 Xoar prop or 15 x 8 prop
Has much rudder and elevator throw as I could make possible
The castle talon suffers from the connectors coming loose mid flight so I ended up using small silicone wire extension piece to allow a degree of flex and also found covering the connectors once installed with a strong silicone adhesive...this has been great, no disconnections since!!

Had the cowl screws come loose also so glued a small metal washers on the rear of the cowl screws holes to help clamp to the cowl when tight..

I use my Skywing SFG because the PAU ones are weak...snapped off mid blender...the Skywing SFG's have carbon fibre rods running top to bottom...much stiffer design...

The Skywing Edge I had was incredible plane so we'll designed IMHO...

But I like the PAU's colour scheme..
and the ridiculously wide fusalage!!!
So easy to change lipo over

Talking of LIPOS I have 2 straps holding them in ...after I had one punch a hole through the canopy on its way to terrafirma mid blender again...but I love blenders!
Wrote that plane off too...
So never one strap again...

I fly thumbs and it's took me along time to learn rolling Harriers with any authority but it's coming slowly ...noticed if I fly rolling Harriers in low rates...(only low rate on elevator) I have great authority...just goes to show too much control throw on elevator makes it harder...
I've since turned up EXPO on elevator High rates to 85%

Really really love the plane its way better than I am...it will take a long time to master for a 54 year old man like me but still that's the whole point I don't want it to be easy...

Just wish I could buy these planes a whole lot quicker and easier, living in the UK makes it very difficult to get hold of them especially with chinese shipping costs going through the rough..use to get hold of them of ALI EXPRESS but shipping has gone up 10 fold!!😭

Must admit Carf was a saviour but the slow boat from china was a long wait...

I had to go on Sim a lot... real flight Sim for a few months...and start with physics turned down and then turn it up to 150% adventually with a 50 inch wingspan plane using your own transmitter...turn all the Expos off in settings on the sim and use the expo settings on the tranny...I found this to be great practice...

Okay quick update I've added a SPMA 9506 FLIGHT PACK ENERGY SENSOR from spektrum ... I'll add a photo of install later, I did modify the routing off the wire through the box to allow for a very acceptable install, with the added benefit of using the old holes for the wires to be utilized for threading a tie wrap through to hold it and the Castle Talon in place.
