We have a flock of A-10's stationed here at the airbase in Ft. Wayne. I live a few miles out from the approch and take off path directly in line with that runway. Getting to see A-10 activity is an almost daily event right over the house low enough to see plenty of detail and the sound is AWESOME...!!!

SR-71 Blackbird.
Here is a link to one of the best stories ever told about flying one. http://gizmodo.com/5511236/the-thril...r+71-blackbird |

I have seen many WWII airplanes up close in person but, The Foke Wolf D-190 is a very impresive machine. The sucker looks like it's doing 500mph standing still. This past weekend I was given a personal Tour of the American Airpower Museum located here on Long Island at the Farmingdale Republic Airport and, for the first time I saw the P-40 Warhawk and, it's tiny compared to many WWII war birds.
