Sorry to hear you won't be able to make it Chris. Unfortunately it looks like I will not be able to make it either. I'm pretty sure the plane will be done but I won't have a prop for it before this weekend.

Have fun guys, this is always a terrific event.

Chris,
I guess it's hard to explain that Father's day is best spent in Hamilton flying your plane. Sorry you won't be able to attend.... Happy Father's Day!!

Tim,
I don't know what kind of prop you need, but I have several for different sizes of planes from glow to 100 cc gassers which you are welcome to use. And I bet there are plenty of other guys that would be more than happy to fix you up with a prop. Give an idea of what you need, and I bet we can get it to you.

Ron,

Thanks, I'm in need of a 2-blade 27 x 10 drilled for a DA-100. I appreciate your offer to help a brother out.

Re: 4th Annual Hamilton HAWKS IMAC Challenge

Tim,

If all you need is a prop, I am sure that someone will have what you need. I do have a Zoar 27X10 that you are welcome to use! Just say the word and somone will have it.... That's how we roll here in the NCFR!.

Plans are looking good, spent the day mowing grass and preparing the field yesterday.... Its looking good. So far there are chance of Isolated t-storms, however, it was suposed to rain all day today and I got sunburned sitting on the tractor. Gee, I wish I had a job where I could be right just 20% of the time and still get paid.....

for those concerned about lodging, there are several hotels on Route 4 between "Symmes Rd." ansd 275 that are reasonable and only 5-15 min from the field. In the past I have recommended the "America's Best Value Inn" on Route 4. It is the cheapest and te closest. http://www.americasbestvalueinn.com/bestv.cfm?idp=1336

Hope to see you all soon!

P.S.

Re: 4th Annual Hamilton HAWKS IMAC Challenge

Managed to get in 10 double sequences this week with the Aeroworks yak - 2 doubles this morning between 10 and 11, and then the rains came...

Tried the Biela 27-10 prop, and it did better in the hot/muggy conditions than the Mezjlik. On a suggestion from Mike McC, I ordered a 27-10TH (thin). It looks very much like the Biela, but thinner at the tip - very thin at the root, much like an electric prop. I doubt this prop could have hollow blades since they are so thin!! But it DOES pull better in the hot/thin air of summer! SO, I guess I will be flying the big YAK this weekend! Interestingly, now that the plane doesn't stop on the uplines, I find myself flying BIGGER instead of smaller!! But, no matter how high I climb, the 3 of 2 on the 45 downline always ends up exiting at about 50 feet. WHat's up with that??

Seth, I'm really glad you moved up this year!! See you this weekend. By now you should have that bipe all figured out and we are in for a freestyle treat, no?

Directions in case Ric doesnt see this.. ( I know hes at the field all day today)

From highway 275 take exit 36 Hamilton Rd North. (route 127)
Go a few miles north on 127 and start looking for Symmes Rd.
Once you cross over Symmes start looking for St. Clair Rd. Its not a major intersection.
Turn left on St. Clair and go a mile or so and the field will be on the right.

Re: 4th Annual Hamilton HAWKS IMAC Challenge

Guys,

Wayne is right I have been at the field all day. Not setting up for the event but fighting with my plane. But I WON! There was a piece of silicone in the pulse vaccum on the reed block. Soooo, after having the cowl off 9 times in the last 5 days and a new carb from DA blah, blah, blah, I got it. I took off at 8:43pm tonight and was able to get full RPM on an upline..... YIPPE!

Anyhow. Wayne is correct for the directions. Those are the best if you are coming from I-71, I-74, or I-275. If you are coming from I-75 south (michigan, Toledo, Canada...) goto exit 19 (Union Center) go west on union center blvd it will turn into Symmes Rd in 5 miles take that to Pleasant Ave (Rt 127) and turn Right, goto next light, St. Clair and turn Left. go 1 mile and the field will be on the right. REMEMBER THAT WHEN YOU TURN ON ST. CLAIR YOU ARE IN A NEIGHBORHOOD AND IT LOOKS LIKE NO PLACE FOR A MODEL AIRPLANE FLYING FIELD. If you feel this way, you are in the right place. If you get lost call me on my cell, 513-371-2435, or better yet go buy an iPhone......
