2016 Mid-Micigan IMAC Contest

I am again getting special early notice out regarding the Mid-Michigan IMAC Contest scheduled for July 16-17, 2016 in Jackson, Michigan. Motel rooms will be in short supply again this year due to a regional Hot Air Balloon Festival and a Fast Horses Country Music Festival at Michigan International Speedway during the same weekend. If you plan to attend the Mid-Michigan, it is important that you reserve your accommodations early to assure that you will be able to get a room. Don't delay even if you are not sure that you will attend. You can always cancel your reservation later if necessary.

That being said, now is a good time to plan your trip to Jackson and get ready for a great weekend of competition. The Mid-Michigan is one of the longest running IMAC contests in the North Central region. Rustic camping and RV parking is available on site but remember we have no hook ups. Concessions will be open on Saturday and Sunday, so come HUNGRY! We'll have great food and iced beverages available throughout the weekend.

On Saturday evening, competitors, club members, spouses and friends are invited to dine at the famous Steaks Eatery. Pay-as-you-go from an extensive menu of hand cut-steaks, chicken, ribs and your favorite libations. Great service and very reasonable prices.

The Jackson RC Club website is linked to the IMAC contest announcement at www.mini-iac.com. Pre-registration will help us estimate our needs for concessions and supplies. You can also go directly to www.jacksonrc.com for directions and information about area motels within a few minutes of the field. Feel free to call or email me if you have special needs or need additional information. The field will open on Friday afternoon, July 15 for practice and set up.

Come join us for a great weekend of fun, friendship and fantastic flying.

Mid-Michigan IMAC Contest

Last Reminder (I promise)
Hope you are planning to attend the Mid-Michigan IMAC Contest in Jackson Michigan on July 16-17. Less than a month away. I'm again sending out this last reminder to those planning to attend who need motel reservations. If you haven't made reservations yet, you must make them as soon as possible. Rooms will be in extremely short supply during the weekend of July 16th due to other area events and it is likely you will not be able to find a room if you do not make your reservations early.

The Jackson RC Club is gearing up to welcome all our friends to another fun filled weekend of IMAC competition. If you have been to the Mid-Michigan before, we are welcoming you back to Jackson. If you haven't been to the Mid-Michigan before, you'll be glad you came. As one of the longest running IMAC contests in the North Central region, we make every effort for participants to have a great experience. Come join us!

Mid-Michigan IMAC Contest-2016

The Mid-Michigan IMAC Contest, 2016 edition is in the books. We had great weather for the entire weekend and a good time was had by all. Thanks to all the contestants that joined us in Jackson. I would be remiss if I did not thank all the members of the Jackson RC Club for their support and the many helping hands that did the heavy lifting this year. Whether you ran scores, helped with set up and or tear down, scribed for the judges, cleaned bathrooms, fetched needed supplies, or baked cookies, your help was appreciated. Special thanks to Edna and Tom Walker and Jay Stolz for doing the score keeping all weekend. They had shade in air cooled comfort thanks to Jim Norton who provided his new toy hauler as shelter for our scorekeepers. Very special thanks to Pam Roxberry for preparing all the concessions and her helper, Elsie Walbrook for assistance. What can I say about Juan Rosa, my co- CD. He picks up all those little jobs that I forget and works tirelessly to make the contest happen. Thanks to all!
