New JR/DFA Thread

It looks as if it is time to move on from all the old JR bankrupt/JR americas as NA distributor thread, and move on to a thread devoted to JR radios in their new life with DFA. Both the JR trademark and Intelectual property are now owned by Dee Force Aviation, and Dee Force seems committed to continuing the JR DMSS/XBUS lineup. New products are available and being distributed in the US by J'tec Radiowave, and a service center has been opened in Champlain, IL, the R/C capital of the Western hemisphere. At present time, transmitter options seem to be a rebranded XG11, and a XG8 with old XG14 software. Receivers, servos, cases, accessories all seem to be U.S. bound as well.

Okay!

I’m all ears...... now let’s hear what’s going on in the background from somebody in the US and Malaysia that can confirm with at least 100% accuracy. JR has been a mess, Futaba is moving into their new digs,
Airtronics is a has been...... All this has left all of us craving some new intel.
Come on RC Industry! Give us something great to hear! I’ll settle for a great day of flying with ANY radio at this point.

That photo is what is frustrationg me righ now. The 2 8ch receivers are $240 and there are $80 worth of remote receivers. That's $300 to do the job that the $200 11ch power buss receiver took care of.

Price surely has to be an option. Not sure JR can support these premium prices.

You can run those 8ch rx with out the extra satt. I flew my plane like that at TAS 2017 and still doing so with zero issues. They are dual diversity RX so you actually have just as much as you do running the older 1131bpu but now have more channels and also redundancy by splitting it.

+1 on ps receivers. I'm sure 8 channel rx are fine but I prefer ps rx. Put a 11 ps on classifieds and ask new price and see how long it lasts. That should tell them what most of us want. My opinion they are going backwards with 2 rx instead of going forward.

They are still powersafe RX, they use a soft switch going into the rx

Look at it like this,,, the cost of your plane.

So now with the Dual RX setup you have redundancy(cheap insurance) plus a few more ports on the RX's to play with

Two independent receivers is NOT redundancy, because you have two of something on board it does not make it redundant.

That's like calling airliner with two pilots redundant control. What one would control L-Aileron and other R-Aileron?

Ok, let me help you to understand the basics on this particular setup,,,

you are running 1 RX in your High $$$ airplane and the single RX you have in your plane goes south and lets out the ghost,,, your plane is now in a body bag in the back of your vehicle.

1 RX controls the #1 side of the plane and #2 Rx controls the #2 side of the plane.

In a 2 RX system, your plane is operated by 2 RX's. If one RX lets out the ghost,,, you still have the other RX to control the plane

I'm confused now. if only one Rx is active can you control the whole plane or just the second half ?

You would have the half of the plane on the good receiver. Guess its a 50-50 chance on the elevator or rudder. I mean, I wouldn't really want to fly with half an elevator. Ailerons should be OK in an emergency with one servo on each.
