I like the 24x9 in the 7400 range. You will get more speed and stronger pulls out because the rpm your in.I always get better performance with higher rpm's.
I'll wait a while but this one might deserve a try.
Thanks for the updates.

Any more updates on this engine. I'm thinking about trying it on a 85" EF Slick 580. Also thinking about a canister on it.

Those that have this engine, online manual states a 2hr break in at 4000rpm using a shock absorber. Without using a shock absorber, it states the vibration could damage engine. The DLE61 doesn't mention the need for a break in prior to flight.

Has everyone followed this procedure for the 65? I do not have a bench tester rig. Thanks

I just got mine.... Defo won't be doing that, as soon as it throttles its airborne. Plane is the best shock absorber

Me too, is there a Pitts style muffler available? The cowl does not have to be cut as much with a Pitts.

Was told by Chief Aircraft that any DLE61 pitts will work with the 65.

I believe the 65 has the same muffler bolt pattern as the DA50.So lots of options out there.
At the advertise weight and the rpm this engine gets, makes it easy to replace a DA70, with 1lb. less weight and same rpm.

DLE 61 Should fit. DA50/DLE55 Port close but DLE61/65 bolt pattern is wider. Muffler won't fit but a header can be massaged enough to fit.

Just look up the 3 views it will show you what is the same and what is different.

Yes Chief was right!

Anyone else got one of these?

Mines is quite a shaker but going to double check timing and adjust mixture. It is bit smokey at idle but throttles amazingly well so will see about opening the H up and leaning the low.

I'm seeing temps of 148c with very little uplines as I still only have maybe 3 litres through it thus far, not ideal but that's with baffling and exits which were fine for the mintor 60 I just took out.

I've got a bowman ring for it much I haven't installed yet so may just put that in to speed up this process.

Hmm. I was hoping it would still be a smooth runner like the 61. I just back ordered one through Tower. Might have to cancel...

The two DLE 65's that I'm running don't shake any more than my DLE 55/61's. A friend is running A DLE 65 on a vintage kit built Ace Extra 230 and runs as smooth the DLE-55 it replaced.
