I agree that the old bolt style has more adjustments to make perfect geometry. You can get the geometry really close with the G10 horns if you take the time to trim/shim and glue them in correctly. My friend had major slop in that gold crap after 6 flights on his Viper. Also the hole predrilled on the rudder is to far behind the hinge line to get good geometry for a pull pull system.

Just received my AJ105. Great quality and very lite construction. I'm thinking this beauty would fly great with a 100.
This plane look's to be very well thought out.
Can't wait to fly it.

Well I just chatted with Tim (AJ's dad) on the phone this evening. One very nice guy that's for sure. My order is in for a 105" Laser as well. Can't beat the 10% off sale to boot! I've heard a lot of people rave about this airframe so can't wait!

All it takes is one flight.

I agree, it is a very solid and high quality airframe. fully capable of IMAC as I will
be using it for practice. But honestly, it may even see competition. It really is good!!
( GP 123, cans 29-9 falcon,).

Ya, if I didn't have my new 42% PAU Extra 300 for IMAC, I think this would be my hybrid XA/Freestyle/3D/IMAC bird. Always good to have a backup for IMAC regardless tho, and I'll still use this for the freestyle routines.

Canopy pins

Guys, I finally got 4 flights on mine. Took me a while to finish building it. I had a rattle on mine on flight 4. I landed it to inspect and found one of the wood dowel/tabs that keys in the front to hold the canopy was missing. I checked the other and it pulled right out. You might want to drill and run a screw in them from the inside. I did my usual epoxy on the inside but that's not how they are held. They are pushed in from the outside. I made some new ones out of aluminum. See pics.

Thanks for the heads up, mine were fine. Probably built a.m. as opposed to closing time...

All those pins like to fall out. I always add CA/Epoxy to all of them and hope for the best.

Just maidened my 105 yesterday. All I can say is it is by far one of the truest flying planes right out of the box. I cannot wait to get some more time on it.

I had a chance to fly a friends 105 today, loved it and now I want one.

Problem is there are too many cool planes and not enough time.

That is actually something that is very common with almost all GS airplanes with these canopy styles. The usual assembly steps with my airplanes involve dripping thin CA around the dowels generously and then coating the backside entirely with epoxy to ensure its locked in there.
