Its amazing how many of the stupids out there are falling for the "hope and change" crap. If you listen to Hitler's speeches, he was offering "hope and change" also.

How about this for hope and change... get an education, work hard, build wealth and quit shooting out kids you can't afford.

Actually I've voted in every election since 1996. . . you really need to do research before you make uninformed statements like that.

I forgot about the liberals trying to boost their votes in your state. BTW You're right, Your local police department couldn't care less about your guns.

An organization called Democracy North Carolina is serious about getting people registered to vote in this state. I recently saw one of their flyers that explains how ex-felons and other convicts can vote.

The flyer says, "Don't be locked out!" It goes on to say that if you've been convicted of a felony in North Carolina, you only temporarily lose your citizenship rights, including the right to vote. BUT you automatically get those rights back after you serve all parts of your sentence, including probation, parole and restitution. You do not need a special document saying your rights are restored. You just register and vote like any other citizen.

Again, you are misinformed, mistaken, and putting out false information based on a premise that is only now coming into being, whereas everything I have discussed was in place 10-12 years ago. Get with the program please. Considering that in NC all handguns need to be registered. . "lack of concern" is the last thing ANY of us would expect if the Police had been informed a possible crime was being committed vis a vis firearm possession. Good post Fiddy . .almost Ironic that the rich lawyers of the world are still out of touch with the "little guy". Do we really need ANOTHER lawyer in the White House? I think not.

As for Democrats doing everything possible to gather more votes for their cause. . . perhaps we should all look to the Constitution for guidance concerning certain things. . .There is NO clause in the Constitution stripping the rights from "Mentally disabled" persons, yet the laws exist in many places. To make laws that arbitrarily strip the rights from these individuals is constitutionally unsupportable, IMO. . and in the opinion of many legal scholars in the US. Given the Supreme Court decision concerning Gun Laws earlier this year, and the opinion that no person can be arbitrarily stripped of any right under the Constitution, there are several movements in place to re-institue a persons full rights, that were formerly denied due to several factors, to include mental illness, disability, behavioural disorders, or other factors. The concern, therefore, is that persons (such as pedophiles) are being stripped of their rights, contrary to the Constitution. . .simply because of their "Mental State".

Here's the question .. Is a persons "Rights under the Constitution" more important a consideration than the persons past record, or current mental state?

And, if the answer is NO. . . who will we strip of Rights first?? the unborn? The mentally ill? The disabled?. . the Muslims or Jews perhaps? This is where it started with Hitler .. . are we, then, to follow the same path?

North Carolina also has its own stupid law which allows convicted felons to have handguns.

i'm glad to see this thread come back... i do believe alot of great things have been discussed and could be discussed in the future. everyone knows each of our opinions on certain topics and certain people. let's just move forward and start more educational and thought provoking posting!!!!!
