R7008SB Receiver

Can I use analog servos with this receiver, or is it high speed only?

Warm Regards,

Travis

Yes. They will work fine as long as you do not use the 12-channel FASSTest mode, that is reserved for digital servos only.

From the instruction sheet posted above :

Quote:
• Analog servos cannot be used with the R7008SB in the FASSTest 12CH mode.

Yes, you can, but only when NOT using SBUS/12 channel mode
If you are just going to use the receiver in a convential system, ie using the 8 servo plugs in the receiver, yes you can use analogs

I stand corrected...I stopped using analogs a long time ago and never would consider using that rx with analogs anyway. Haven't tried to link it with anything other than 12 channel FASSest.

According to Futaba's compatibility chart the R7008SB receiver will only link with the 18 MZ and the 14 SG transmitters in the 12 channel or 18 channel FASSTest mode....I've never tried to link this receiver with any radio other than my 14 SG. So changing modes appears not to be an option, that's not to say that analog servos wont work in the conventional channels. Don't know never tried....Judge please correct me if I'm wrong

Both the R7008SB and R7003SB receivers are FASSTest only and can only be used with either the 14SG or 18MZ. Neither one will link with any other radio Futaba makes.

Both can be set to 12-channel FASSTest. The 14SG also has a 14-channel FASSTest mode while the 18MZ has the 18-channel FASSTest mode.

The 14-channel FASSTest and 18-channel FASSTest will work with analog servos.

All current S.Bus servos are digital so that point is moot since they are already digital.

The default to a blank heli model cannot be changed as far as I know.

We're not sure what the difficulty is. The transmitter I use on my desk is a 12FGH. When I create a new model, it always asks me what model type I want, and I make the determination there. I'm not sure what you are concerned about, because you ALWAYS have to select a model type when you create a new model. Until you select a model type, the transmitter doesn't start out with anything.

However, what you may be seeing is that the model type may start out with something, but it usually starts out with the same type of model that was previously selected. If I happen to have an airplane model as the currently-active model type when I make a new model, then that will show up in the model type screen. If I have a heli currently selected, then that will be the model type when I create a new model. It's a matter of a few moments to select the model type I'm going to work with. Even so, if you wind up with a model type you don't want, it's just a matter of a few seconds to change the model type.

The fact that I have a "heli" transmitter doesn't mean that a "heli" model type will come up every time I go to create a new model.

It does both FASSTest (telemetry) and FASST (non-telemetry). Several of the newer receivers are set up like this. The R7006SB, R7014SB, etc.

Dear Judge and rest fellows here,

I would like to swap my 7008SB receivers with 7003SB as they perform more steadily with Powerbox equipment type of distributors (this is at least what Powerbox has tested in the lab).

In more detail. On my Jet I have a Powerbox Competition SRS connected with two 7008SB for redundancy. If I change those with 7003SB on SB will they work seamlessly or they will need new channel allocation etc.? I am asking because my setup on the jet is rather complicated so I would not like to set everything from scratch.

Looking forward to your answers.

Kind regards,
Nikolas

The 7108 has High Gain antennas and it has solved a problem with one of my 40% pros blacking out in flight for a second or two. It would happen often at two different airfields and now I'm solid all the time. I have both receivers on "Fast Multi"
