Funny how things work out. I see this thread about the "Hots" and it gets me thinking about how much I enjoyed the .60 size Super Hots. Then 2 days later I meet up with a fellow pilot a few towns away and purchase his very nice, unfinished / never flown 91" Span Giant Hots!!!

Nothing will really fit "IN" the cowl. It's set up for a G62 now as far as the firewall/mount goes. But That's way too heavy IMO. It has a nicely done 2 piece wing with an aluminum spar. Wings are foam core / balsa sheeted. It has CA hinges in it which will be replaced with Robarts. I am thinking Hitec 7954s on all the surfaces, DLE55RA up front, Single 5000 Lipo and a Tech Aero IBEC for simplicity....

What do you guys think?

I am using a Zenoah G62 with a spring start in my 2 meter wingspan UltarHots. Earlier I was using G38 but was not satisfied with the performance. See pictures above 10-23-2012 and 12-04-2013. I have not found this engine too heavy :-)

I modified the fuselage after a crash in the year 2000 so the bottom is now lower to make space for a larger tank. I am using a carbon undercarriage to give clearance for the large 22" prop. The cowl is home made of glass fiber. The wing has flaps...

I was recently given one of these it needs an engine but the gentlemen left all the servos in place .
I have just started my research and today determined that it is in fact a Ultra Hots . It is kind of ugly all covered in black , one piece wing . But overall the airframe looks to be in pretty decent condition .
thinking of using a Dle 20-30 engine because that's what I have hope it will be enough power to at least have some fun

If the wingspan is 90 or more you will need more engine a 50 to 60cc. I had the big one for a very short time I had a brison on it it turned into a plow.....but a nice crop of balsa kindling was produced

Google " Hotselliptic" in the images section,,,best looking Hots ever IMHO.

I think it was in Model Airplane News when I was a kid.

Did they ever produce one? I think they are ugly as hell... I have an ultra hots... so a super mega would be awesome!
Yes, the ultra hots is old school white, with a little black and some pink ugly!

The Hots 48'' wing

Anyone here still here?
I am looking for some help building the regular 48'' The hots model. Been saving it since 1986 when i bought it. Wing is almost complete. Need help with aileron rod installation.
Any help would be appreciated.
