Can you estimate the equivalent two-stroke engine (power-wise) for the 5-125, 5-180, 5-210, and 5-260?

Still scratching my head trying to decide how big an engine I would need and whether I can afford it.

Hard to say, 2 different animals... What is the weight of the plane?
We can offer Payment options if need it.

RE: weight, not sure yet, that is part of my problem. It will be a Bates Sea Fury (101"), but in reviewing build logs, it seems the weight might be anything from 35-40 lbs to 62 lbs?

Payment options - lol, no that would be a very bad idea. The question isn't whether or not it'll fit on the credit card - the question is whether I can shrug it off when / if it crashes!

I think that 5x 210 may be the best answer if you can fit.
Thrust @23.5kgf x 2.2 = 51.7LBF
This will be good if you get to 60LB range and fly scale. 5 x 210 will give you spare power.
UMS 5 x 180 @19kgf x 2.2= 41.8LBF could work also if you are up to 50lb. for 60lb I think will be marginal.

It sounds like I really need to get it built (minus the engine box) and figure out the weight before deciding. 35-62 pounds is just too large a range at this point. Honestly, 62 pounds isn't going to happen. I'm hoping for 40-45 pounds at worst. I've already ditched the Aluminum wing tube for C/F, and I don't plan to do the wing folding. If the plan estimates are legit, I ought to hit low. The only thing heavier than the plans show that I was thinking about was this engine. (And I would expect some serious nose weight with the G62 the plans call for anyway.)

The cowl has a bit over 12" of space. Does the engine diameter on your chart include the spark plugs and wiring?

Can you explain the 41.8LBF number? Is that static force? Does that mean the engine would be capable of dead lifting 41 pounds?

Thanks for your help. Hopefully, I'll be in touch once the build is far enough along to estimate weight.

Would any of these be suitable for the Top Flite warbirds? Most specifically, the P-47, Hellcat, Corsair, Zeke and FW-190??
