Hey fellas,

Good news, looks like I have the go-ahead to hold the Salem IMAC contest in Salem, CT once again this year. Its a great location as it is one of the nicest field in CT, and it is centrally located between the northern part of the region and the southern part of the region. After discussing it with a few guys, we figured it would be best to put it out here for your guys input as to when to have it. I originally thought about using this location to host the regional championships at the end of the season as it is so centrally located (both contests in CT are) and we would get a great draw from both the Maine/NH/VT/MA crew and the NY/NJ/PA/DE/MD crews. It really has the ability to be a very large contest. My question is this, would you guys prefer more to have this location host the regionals at the end of the season, OR, have it around the same time as it was in 07 that was in June. I was thinking about adopting the the contest dates that the LVRCS contest had in June as that contest will most likely not be occurring again in 09. What are your guys thoughts and preferences? Shoot for the end of the season blowout or go for the dates in June/July, etc?

Keep in mind, the Woodstock Contest will remain in August so if we had the regionals at the end of Sept/Oct, there would be two contests in CT around that time of the year. According to Albert, we are going to work really hard on the schedule this year so that there are no over-lapping contests and only a contest every-other weekend so that we have an off-weekend between events.

Haha. Running two contests will be enough, no way am I doing 3!!! Plus, getting two contests approved at Salem would have a snowballs chance!!

Hi guys. If you are sure that LVRCS is not going to happen next year then I would vote for that timing. My only suggestion is that you not hold it on fathers day weekend as it was last year.

Thanks for the input Tony. Yes, that was definetly a huge oversight on my part back in 07. Never even realized it was father's day weekend until the weekend or two before the event. I think I am leaning to regional finals at this point though, because of the centralized location for everyone, but who knows. As for LVRCS, from what I have been told, that contest is done.

Honestly man, I don't care what weekend it is. I just wanna fly. I loved the event at Salem (my first event ever last year) and just to have another one there would be great whether it is championship or just a regular event. Both are good with me.

I wish I could say we were not sure about the lvrcs contest but we are. It sucks, we didn't need to loose a contest !

If I could get the BLack Dirt members to agree on a contest maybe Jerry G and I could run a contest on the LVRCS weekend at Black DIrt if John does the regional event at Salem. I won't know until the January meeting.

We want to do the Lums Pond contest the first weekend in June.

I like the idea of the Regional Finals in CT at the end of the season. Good location for the center of the region. Plus, John runs a good contest (only he needs to fly in them this year ).

Tony, even if we don't loose LVRCS, Blackdirt would be a good contest. Hope the club members would like to host an Imac again. Anthony Romano and I talked about a contest their at our pattern meet this year and he's for it.

I like the idea of the contest at Black Dirt as well. That would be another contest close to home. I like the idea of adding more contests to our region. The key is going to be organizing them effectively so that we arent all bunched up togethor.
